Who's working anyway?

The population of this country is 300 million.

160 million are retired.

That leaves 140 million to do the work.

There are 85 million in school.

Which leaves 55 million to do the work.

Of this there are 35 million employed by the federal government.

Leaving 15 million to do the work.

2.8 million are in the armed forces.

Which leaves 12.2 million to do the work.

Take from that total the 10.8 million people who work for state and city governments.

And that leaves 1.4 million to do the work.

At any given time there are 188,000 people in hospitals.

Leaving 1,212,000 to do the work.

Now, there are 1,211,998 people in prisons.

And there you are, at your computer, just surfing the net.

So who's doing all the work?

Where did you get those figures from? Wherever it was, they missed off all the figures about people who are officially unemployed.

Those that are not.....but your last point is faulty for among those surfing the net could be those doing it at a job which either encourages it or allows the time to do it....and yet they may be productive through other means.

He got them probably in an e-mail that he just copied and pasted here.

And muscles. :csad:
Mystery Solved as to why he can only manage to pop in and start a lackluster thread once every month.
He's bringin' home the bacon for America.

I was gonna say he's spreadin' himself too thin, but won't.

I'm doing all the work. You ungrateful American basteeds. :cmad:

The people who don't read crappy email forwards will false or misleading information, that's who

I find it very hard to believe that over half the population of America is retired.

And to think that over half should be dead....or close to dying..

Well, there are 15 million people working in FastFood....most of them have acne or an accent.

damn illegal immagrants, with there strong self-drive and acceptance of low wages.

Many of those stats aren't mutually exclusive.

I once see one just modified to fit Spain population... :P
