Who's left from Superman 1978 to make a guest appearance on Smallville?

Okay, so far during it's amazing 6 year run, we've had cast members from Superman The Movie guest star on Smallville.

Christopher Reeve and Margo Kidder and Terence Stamp. (If I forgot anybody, let me know)

But who from the beloved Richard Donner film has yet to make an appearance and hopefully someday will. *crosses fingers*

Gene Hackman-The original Lex Luthor
Ned Beatty-Otis
Valerie Perrine-Eve Teschmacher
Jackie Cooper-Perry White
Marc McClure-Jimmy Olsen
Sarah Douglas-Ursa
Jack O'Halloran-Non
Jeff East-The original teenaged Clark Kent
Susannah York-Lara

I know that Supergirl The Movie tanked at the box office, gut that didn't stop Jeannot Szwarc from directing several Smallville episodes.

Does anybody think Helen Slater should make a guest appearance on Smallville?

It just came to me, if Terence Stamp is the voice of Jor-El...they should get Sarah Douglas to be the voice of Lara.

General Zod and Ursa as Clark's Kryptonian parents in the Smallville universe...imagine the possibilities!!!

I'm surprised so many people from the movie have been guest stars. Too bad Lois & Clark wasn't as blessed. Well, anyway, at this point I think Gene Hackman and Marc McClure would be the PERFECT guest stars.

McClure could play Jimmy's dad or something.

helen slater should be lara!

how many times have i said this now:woot:
and the supergirl movie did well everywhere but the US and we all know movie companies only think domestically

I've been a long proponent of bringing on Sarah Douglas as Lara!

I think this is the consensus opinion if they were ever to have a McClure cameo.

I also like the idea of Helen Slater as Lara. A Jeff East cameo could work, though have you seen him lately? A few too many Krispy Kremes in Smallville, methinks.

Of course Gene Hackman is the dream casting. Even Rosey's been quoted as saying he wants him on the show. Only problem is I doubt the CW would fork over the dollars necesarry to bring him on. Though if it happened, it would complete the triumvirate (since Reeve and Kidder have already starred). I just don't know who he'd play. At this point in his life, does Lex need a Swann-like character to point him toward his destiny? I dunno. He's doing a good job himself. The only other roles I could think of would have Hackman play an old business rival of Lionel's. Or he could play the head scientist at Level 33.1.

LOL! :D

(actually a KrispyKreme sounds really good right now).

I didnt know Miss Teschmacher had a first name. :wow:

McClure said he likes the show and would do a cameo if he was free on the Kryptonfan podcast..

Mmmmmm a still warm jelly donut with a nice cup of coffee would make me a very happy boy right now! lol

I just made coffee, and some banana chocolate-chip muffins are in the oven.

Come on over! :D

i hate when people do that after my post it makes me think they said something nasty and decided against it. and if not that it makes me unbearably curious:oldrazz:

Gene Hackman I really want to see on the show and I actually love this idea of him being one of Lionel's rival. Glover and Hackman doing a scene together would be gold.
Helen Slater I want to see as well and she would be perfect as Lara, at least if they can't get Teri Hatcher to do a cameo.
Marc McClure like Hulk said said he would love to appear on the show, he even mentioned maybe as Jimmy's dad.

Sorry Bod....It wsa just a comment about Margot Kidder...but I realized it had already been made...so I just got rid of it. Nothing about you, I wouldn't have anything negative to say about you.:woot:

Hackman is my number 1 request for guest stars...then Dean Cain.:hyper:

Aside from Gene Hackman I would LOVE to see a Dean Cain guest spot.

He could play the new sheriff in town. ;)

Also, what about Ducky?

He played Lex Luthors nephew in Superman IV! :D A ducky cameo would kick ass! :woot:

I'd love to see Dean Cain on the show (for any reason they could use as an excuse! :whatever: Teri Hatcher too... Pretty much any of the L&C folks (though that Perry died, didn't he?). Can we get that Lex to be one of Lionel's rivals? He was smoooooth, and that Lois was kind of interested in him once or twice.

Ducky - in S:IV - used a really obnoxious car with loud "horns". Have him show up on SV at some intersection, having car trouble in another really obnoxious car. Then give him a run-in with Clark and/or Lex - maybe have Lex smash his car or something fun like that, or have a Zoner do it. For extra fun, get Molly Ringwald in the car with him. I saw her on some SF episode recently, and she played the mom in the "Molly" American Girl movie that was on TV this fall. Heck, get Andrew McCarthy too; have him be a love interest for one of our leading women... Or another old prep school non-buddy of Lex's.

Hackman: as Lex's crazy uncle, Lucius "Lucky" Luthor. Gambler, mobster, just plain nut... Have him throw out a few lines to Lex about family history, destiny, etc. No idea if there's such a character in the comics, but it would get Lex questioning his own family's sanity. Or as some archaeologist who found the caves, somehow got Jor-El's bit to activate, and is now going around claiming to *be* Jor-El.

The following L&C cast members should be on the show:

1. Dean Cain. I wanna see a badass guest spot where not only does he help Clark, but is involved in some cool action scenes.

2. Teri Hatcher. She could play a mentor for Lois or something.

3. Michael Landes. The greatest Jimmy Olson OF ALL-TIME. He could play Olson's college professor or something. I don't know. Or maybe the top photographer at the Daily Planet.

4. John Shea. Maybe a rival of Lionel or something. I don't know.
