I have just seen a pic of Hooded Justice from Snyder film and he doesnt look anything physique wise like the Hooded Justice in the GN. Has Snyder giving a reason why? As the Hooded Justice powerful physique plays to his character. His the big and powerful mysterious leader the very first real life hero and a badass to boot. I know it might sound like a petty complaint but I am just curious as to why such an easy transition to the screen could not be achieved.

I dunno, generally real muscle men, have a stocky build to them. Look at any of the ESPN 2 worlds strongest man winners, they all look a little chunky, regardless they could crumple you up like a used kleenex.

Hooded Justice was portrayed as a muscle bound in shape crime fighter, If Alan Moore wanted him to look like a strong man he would have had it be so. The guy is meant to be built like a body builder but with the ability of a fighter.

I always associated HJ with/as a wrestler of some sort, not really a well toned body builder. Just someone who was big, well proportioned and strong, who of course knew how to fight.

From what I've seen of HJ in the new blog, seems fine to me.

You're asking why a real large person doesn't look exactly like a comic book drawing with shaded muscles?

Yes its not excatly hard to get a guy excatly like Hooded Justice in real life, large but defined.

I don't think you understand my point. You're just assuming that because you cannot see little individual muscles in real life, that this guy is out of shape.

Yeah, you got it right

This Hooded Justice is defined, you just cant see it because real clothing doesn't act like the magic second-skin fabric of comic books.

Yeah, that stuff must be really tight.

But seriously, did this even need it's own thread?

Yeah, but let's see you get a guy to look like that wearing a full-body suit. I don't even think spandex (which didn't exist in the 30s) would show muscle definition the way comic book suits always do.

Not that I don't see your point--it's true, he's not as formidable looking in that minutemen picture as he was in the GN. But I don't think there's anything to be done about that.

i dont have my graphic novel on me so i cant look back in it to check, but i thought in the graphic novel hooded justice did have some belly if i remember.

nah he was cut and very buff...i dont mind a belly on him in the movie though...

Men back then weren't concentrating on muscle. Just strength. Like boxers for example. The reason they look somewhat flabby is because they concentrated more on endurance and strength.

Go and watch the Running Man. It has Arnold at his fitness peak in a tight bodysuit, and he has no definition to it.
