The Dark Knight WhySoSerious.com/Laughtilithurts (First Post Recap)

sounds good, the first two letters are O and J.

problem is, absolutely none of the numbers go past 8. there are no nines on the back-end. (that makes me think octals, though!)

wait they dont go past 8? its possible venom can be in africa? and this video of the gotham docks security camera being intercepted?...:wow:! JOKERS MEN TURNED ON HIM TIED HIM UP AND SENT HIM TO AFRICA TO HAVE THE CRAP BEATEN OUT OF HIM BY DOC OCK AND VENOM FOR BEING A MORE BADASS VILLIAN THEN THEY ARE!...:wow:...ANOTHER SPIDEY BATMAN CROSSOVER! I KNEW IT!

Are you adding the last two digits together or just transposing them down?

adding them together. otherwise "31" doesn't fly on an alphabet, nor does 87. adding them together may work, but there will be no letter greater than 15, and that rubs me a bit.

21 breaks in the timecode = 42/2, which definitely means the timecode is our puzzle :)

true true, 42 does use non-linear puzzles to a great degree. However, it's Batman. most of the folks aren't like vanishingpointgame, and whittle around with Windows Fista all the time.

now that was a hard ARG.

i'm currently stuck trying just to get the theory of a timecode puzzle.

first, it's a linear sequence. the breaks in the code indicate breaks in the sequence

second, the code looks to only be specifically 4 digits in difference, from 0387 to 1822.

third, there are 21 jumps in the sequence, which should indicate 21 characters after whatever manipulation we do, which could be a 15 word site with bookend www and com on each side.

I don't think this is true. We've all done some ridiculous things in order to solve puzzles here. And so far, oftentimes we overlook simple things, but not always. We've found puzzles in Morse code and binary and we've tracked down coordinates and a whole bunch of random crap that would never work if you asked one person alone. They know that there are enough people playing this game to have a knowledge database that is essentially infinite. In so few words, I daresay we can solve anything. The problem is just making sure we're on the right track because it seems we have unlimited options. But, I also think the Joker is really into hiding things in plain sight, which might be why there are surprisingly simple answers to some of the puzzles.

I have yet to post all of the emails - Atoz is one crazy loon, though! :funny:

I think Atoz is a loon, but I think something made him loony. I seriously in my heart of hearts believe that Atoz knows something and he's dying to tell Barhyte because he thinks Barhyte is the one not-dirty cop around (and apart from Gordon, he may very well be right). I don't think that e-mail was just a desk worker's rant; I think it was a big giant sack of wink wink nudge nudge at Barhyte. He's offered multiple opportunities to run into Barhyte casually so he can tell him something...dude knows something and, by god, I want to know what it is!

Hmm....intersting theroy. Does that mean that Spider-man has to save the Joker? I always knew I loved spider-man. Anyway...we should set up task forces to tackle this one, Like have a few look for faces, a few dio the alphabet thing. You know. Now, with that in mind I was wondering if there was anything I could help out with specifically?

P.s. Bad speller

Hmmm - just checked the Map of Gotham and apparently there IS no Dock 138. Only goes up to 101.

I'm not sure if this is what you guys were looking for, or if this list has all the number sequences in it (does this exclude the "timejump" numbers?)
Well whatever the case, I left the first two numbers alone and used them as empty spaces, and added the last two numbers of each sequence together and used the corresponding alphabet letter. Here's the list from these numbers:

OJ
DEGOOM
HDHKH

IFMGH

BEGEGMOJ
HDEKO

erm that sequence of timestamps is incorrect
it's missing another 13:11

maybe its not a shipping dock. any warehouses on the map numbered 138?

Or maybe it used to be a dock and it isnt anymore....

Whoa whoa whoa. Don't do that. Good Star Wars fans can appreciate the mighty prowess of the Priceline Negotiator, too.

true. but nontheless imo starwars is the greatest 70's film and im a true fan of it. and han solo is not a dirtbag like those trekkie shat supporters say (movie reference). now...back on topic!

Hurm. Who has the correct timestamp list to begin with? Do we want the ones with the "out of order" timestamps mixed in or what?

Forgive me for not keeping up with this, but what is the point of the game???? I've won it, now what?

No, I'm guessing the number substitution isn't as simple as 1-26. There are exactly 26 unique two-digit numbers if we disregard the first two digits, looking like the following with a frequency table and where some guesswork has gotten me so far:

87 73
T O

14 31 41 52 78 87 76
- - - - A T E

17 31 44 65 71

12 76

27 33 57 61 71

15 78

22 36 57 63 84

11 11 22 48 57 76 87
- - - - - E T

11 14 25 41 52 76 87 73

27 36 57 61 84

Majic Walrus' first law of geek. No more than 4 geeks or fanboys may inhabit the same general location or forum without eventually discussing Star Trek vs. Star Wars.

Guys i think we may have killed it.

I think this is a dead end...
