SERIOUSLY...This has nothing to do with the game (I think) but I did get:

SANATORIUMS from some of the letters, but nothing else makes sense connection wise.

Using every letter apart from G in the part that says 'The Spinner Must Go Around At Least Once' I got:

Which is quite bizarre in itself, I wasn't going to share...but I thought it was impressive also considering I'm currently at work!

why do they keep shutting down the hippo threads/posts??

Probably because it's unfortunately off-topic. Or someone complained about it. Or maybe a mod just plain doesn't like Hippos. Like their family was murdered by a pack of Hostile Hippos during a trip to disneyland, and bears a hippo scar from the great evil leader of these hostile hippos. The mod decides to get revenge on the hippos by destroying them on sight, but later the mod's mentor teaches the mod that revenge will get him/her no where, and s/he must let go of her/his past to become what s/he was meant to be. Liposuction wo/man! Because a Hippo without fat, is good as no hippo.

... Hmmm did that make any sense? Confound my Late night posts, and their lack of point.

The first part of Gunhild's post gets at it. This thing could have been something comical in passing, with an occasional reference to combat the resulting ennui when we hit a wall. Unfortunately, some people don't know when a joke has gone far enough. The volume of posts made in regard to this thing is absurd and I'm sick of getting reports and PMs about it, as well as reading open comments from users citing that they can't identify any breaks in the viral (as funny as that sounds right now ) because there's endless pages of hippo foolishness. So, after conferring with the other 'can't take a joke' mods, it's open season on hippos.

If you're bored of the Laughtilithurts monotony, there are hundreds of threads around this place that might be to your liking. If you have an overwhelming desire to revel in hippos, I suggest you partake in the discussion forums at Animal Planet. If this nonsense flares up like it did the other night, there will be additions to the probations already handed out.

In other words, what I'm proposing is simple; kill the hippos.

The way we solved the puzzle - whether cheating or not doesn't matter - is the wrong answer?

Maybe there's something else in there we've all missed because we've been staring at the static and the binary...anyone considered this yet?

I'm jumping on this bandwagon too. We've seen to have outsmarted ourselves. I'm guessing that if we legitimately figured out how to get the ticket, it would have read something other than '000000'.

At the risk of being redundant, in addition to the binary coding, have any Base64 inquiries been made?

here in the nerd-thread that teufel created, I think there's a repeating pattern to the timecode (visual) if you take each visible frame of the code and list it out.

the current pattern i'm looking at is: (looking just at the 100'ths of second spot)

methinks the biggest issue is getting too elaborate with the game itself. Everything that 42 put together makes sense in the end. So "static" is a key, which makes sense with how we ended up there.

and logically, the next step would be to deconstruct the warehouse swf, and find the next clue, or... delve into the deep dark timecode and the "Mola Ram" cipher or whatever it is.

the spin wheel is 1-8. all the last digits on the timecode are 1-8. can't be a coincidence. there's a bridge here somewhere....

With less than a month before the movie is released, i highly, highly doubt 42 entertainment would let us stumble around blind on some impossible game. If for some strange reason the game was this complicated, which it never has been, then there would have been a ninja sent in by now.

Thank god the Hippo nonsense is behindus now. I think a few of us ended being banned from the boards because of it. I did only one Hippo joke and thankfully it wasn't enough to get me banned. I sure hope that SpideySean or whatever his nam was didn't get banned bacause he was funny. Although he was off topic he kept alot of us up laughing all night when we were all ready to go to bed. It'd be a shame if he ended up getting banned.
