Marvel have as said on the front page the next 14 years of movies planned, yet Warner brothers seem to find it hard to bring some of their most beloved characters to screen. While marvel/Disney are putting money into little known characters such as guardians of the galaxy and ant man, WB seem to have trouble bringing wonder woman to the screen in her own movie.

If we are honest wonder woman is far more well known to the general public than ant man.

Who honestly saw Disney buying lucasfilm or marvel 10 years ago? Disney certainly have the money to buy DC, or even Time warner, but would they sell? Even if it was the right amount of money?

With Marvel, Lucasfilm & if rumors are true Hasbro soon under there belt, is it only a matter of time before Disney buys DC/Time Warner?

They may have the next few years won, but as of right now, Warner Bros. is still more powerful than Disney when it comes to film entertainment:

Would be interesting if they bought Hasbro too, but why don't they conquer country by country? If Disney had One Piece they would now be ruling Japan and other Asiatic countries.

Either way, as much as i think Disney rulling Hollywood would be interesting, it's very doubtful.

I wish they would...nmaybe we would actually get a good DC movie for a change. But doubt it'll happen.

I believe competition brings out the best in people, so I hope not. Coke has Pepsi, McDonalds has BK and Wendys and Marvel needs DC. WWE became very stagnant after purchasing their main competetion WCW.

Why won't Disney buy every movie studios while they're at it so there is zero competition? :o

Just because they say they have it planned it out doesn't mean they'll actually come out. 14 years? Marvel will have already oversaturated and ruined the comic book genre. Theres a huge difference between trying to release Wonder Woman and Gotg/Ant Man, huge difference what it means to each studio so that is a ridiculously bad comparison. WB is too big and powerful for Disney to afford. The only reason they have Lucasfilm is because George Lucas allowed them too.

Also, superhero movies aren't the only thing in the Industry, Warner Bros. still has plenty of successful franchises thanks to Harry Potter, Middle Earth and many other properties they oun. I think your view is very narrow when it comes to this, you're only counting superhero films and pretty much ignoring everything else.

Also, besides great Animated movies, Disney's films are mostly vanilla blockbuster movies, not very much more than that.

Disney can probably afford the price to purchase WB/DC, but they have to be on the market first and judging from the size and the success of the Time Warner conglomerate, it will probably never happen. I do think that Sony Pictures might be in trouble especially since the Sony corporate hasn't been doing too well from what I've heard, and I can see Sony selling its movie rights like MGM did when it went bankrupt years ago to Disney in the future.

well firstly, WB is gigantic, it will take all of Disney's assets to even attempt at opening negotiations-- and even if WB would entertain such a notion (which they would probably only do for laughs) the pricetag will only go up up and away.

secondly, WB's inane inability of developing their properties has little to do with money and moreso to do with management. simply put the current decision makers at WB doesnt like thinking outside the box-- thats too big of a risk for their sensibilities. they would rather wait for the likes of Marvel to do that and then copy their MO and repackage it under their banner. they wouldnt have bothered with Harry Potter if it wasnt crazy popular with a built in massive fanbase to guarantee ROI. the success of LOTR cant really be attributed to them either-- it was New Line that bankrolled that thing, NL was just bought up by WB after FOTR was released. and hadnt Avengers not made the crazy money it did Batman and Superman would never ever see each other on the big or small screen much less any other superhero seeing the light of day.

do you see how their minds work? unfortunately thats helped them maintain their top dog stature. i'm hoping that somehow the tides would change and favor those who are original but for now :whatever:

Really buy out Time Warner? You must think they're some small time company. :funny: They would have to bring something mega huge to the table to even begin preliminary talks.

When it comes to blockbusters they don't think outside the box, but in other movies, they usually bring some of the oscar baits.

Disney will buy DC someday.

But Time Warner......... too massive to ever be bought out by one entity.

And once again, check the numbers, may Disney sells more toys, but when it comes to movies, Warner Bros. is still doing better

Disney isn't just toys, though; they have theme parks, TV networks, and ESPN (who can generate millions each month due to subscription).

Time Warner is the biggest name in the movie industry, but when it comes to other areas they have their deficiencies.

The thought of Disney owning everything is just as depressing as McDonalds owning every restaurant or something.

Still, they're way too big to be bought by Disney right now. WB also has other assets, not as big as Disney, but they're still big leagues.

Disney are never ever ever ever ever going to buy Time Warner, and the same goes for anything else. It's as big as Disney themselves. Buying DC? Well, maybe one day that might happen in a couple of decades but no way anyone will buy out Time Warner.
