This could very well get this man an Oscar, based on a true story. It looks to be a major tear jerker, yet an uplifting journey.

In theaters Dec 15

Plot Outline: A struggling salesman (Will Smith) takes custody of his son (Jaden Smith) as he's poised to begin a life-changing professional endeavor.

Sony released this thing in December. Of course they're looking for awards gold, but I'm just hoping that this film doesn't self-destruct. It has great source material, but since film writing is now dependent upon marketing. . .you never know.

Looks to be a pretty emotional movie.

Will Smith gets a lot of flack for his movies because he usually plays the same "Awww hell no!" type of guy, but he really can act and I hope he starts doing more movies like this to prove that.

Yeah I think this will prove how good he is.
He looks a little like Jesse Jackson in this. :yay:

I'm looking forward to it. I saw Chris Gardner speak once, and his story was really interesting.

The movie looks pretty good. I probably won't see it in theaters, since this really isn't the type of movie I'll spend twenty bucks to see, I might hunt it down on DVD whenever that comes out.

wow!...added to my list of movies to watch this winter :D

Another good looking movie to see.
If Will gets another Oscar nomination, it'd make me happy.

Don't be one of those people! Just support the damn film when it comes out!

I read the author's story in Jet couple of months ago, very touching. Will be seeing this.

I saw the trailer again with Casino Royale,it still hits home.

Will plays a homeless, single father in his new film. Why he says this movie hits close to home.

Introducing Jaden Smith
*Total cutie pie. :p
He's so good, he steals scenes from his famous dad! Jaden Smith talks about his big screen debut.

The Real Chris Gardner

His is the ultimate rags-to-riches story. The real-life Chris Gardner discusses his biggest success

Along with what seems to be a good movie, i'll also be seeing it for the eye candy of my city in another Hollywood film...

This movie looks amazing, I love it when Will Smith does drama. People forgot that he is actually an extremely talented actor. Early word is his son can act too, little cutie as well. Thandie Newton is also in this film, gotta support my Brits so I'm definitely watching this.

I second that.
Thandie is great, too.

I so wanna see this!

:O Yeah, I just realised after posting. I'm sure it has some kind of meaning.

Well if you look at that picture at the top of the page, the Y is black... there's the clue.

who the hell spends twenty dollars at the theatres? if it's 9.50 in california i doubt it'd be double anywhere else.

He's probably considering a lot of food and drink too.

Well I always get a huge bag of potato chips, a huge bag of gummi bears and this box of 30 mini chocolate chip cookies... comes to about $14.
