Woman membership canceled after complaining about trans member

I have to admit that if I knew someone used to be a man I'd feel a bit weirded out to be in the same bathroom facility with them, much like I feel weirded out being in the Men's Bathroom, like when I worked at the local theater cleaning the rest rooms and upstairs theaters.

A sadistic sexual predator who comes up with the idea of dressing up as a woman is going to do it anyway, regardless of trans rights. That is a sick, sick red herring, just like fear of pedophilia was used as a way of keeping gays out of many professions and even public life for too many years. Transgender is a thing; get over it.

Spot on, love this post.

If the person had surgery and is now biologically a woman, then more power to her...she deserves to be in the ladies room and she deserves respect.

If the person still has a penis and balls then they are still a male and don't deserve to be in the ladies room no matter what they feel they are inside. That's not a valid reason and I don't care who you are. I could feel like a woman inside today if I wanted. The article doesn't have all the details so I don't know about this case.

Yeah, to me it really boils down to whether or not they still have a penis. If they have a penis that makes them a sexual threat to women, and I can understand why a woman would not feel comfortable/safe in that environment.

I'll be sure to tell all my guy friends that, thanks. :o

A penis is a penis just like boobs are boobs. If it isn't used (and hormones would affect function), then it's just there and of no threat to anybody, even if it hasn't been surgically removed yet.

Maybe a law should be passed banning possesion of offensive and threatening sexual weapons like penises. :o

But then you'd have to draw distinctions between those classified as hunting, target-shooting or assault models. And you'd have to worry about those that can be upgraded to assault models quite easily in your own garage, and then there's ammunition.

Also, would there be different restrictions depending on size? I'm asking ... for a friend. :ninja:

The article explicitly mentioned that the person was wearing clothes, there was no unclothing in from of people nor penis or whatever involved.

I get what you're saying, but I have an issue with the bolded part. Surgery does not make you a biological male or female. Surgery does not change how many chromosomes you have, nor does removing natural reproductive organs change your biological sex. If you identify as a gender that is different that what your biological sex is, great, more power to you, but let's not pretend that we should change the scientific rules and definitions to make you feel better. Call me an ass if one wants, but scientific accuracy trumps a person's feelings.
