A release date has been set for Woody Allen's upcoming film Nero Fiddled (formerly known as The Bop Decameron) , June 22nd.

Boasting a cast comprised of Allen himself (his first role since '06 with Scoop), Roberto Beningi, Alec Baldwin, Jesse Eisenberg Penélope Cruz, Judy Davis, Greta Gerwig, Ellen Page, Alison Pill, and Alessandra Mastronardi.

Plot-wise not much is known but the film is set (you guess it, in Rome) and will be consists of four separate vignettes, two with American characters and two with Italian characters, the stories may most likely interweave.

A film by Allen is always something to look forward to and after Midnight in Paris, which felt really like his output from the 70s and 80s and his strongest work for awhile, I'm more excited than ever.

With Midnight in Paris, Allen has shown that he has most certainly still got it and I love that he is continuing with his European-based film series. And not to mention, the impressive mix of international talents he has assembled for this film; so yes, I'm absolutely excited for more Allen.

The film has undergoing change of the title...again, its new title is To Rome with Love.

Excerpt from press release:
TO ROME WITH LOVE was a name selected as an homage to the eternal city of Rome where the film was shot on location last summer. This will be used for its worldwide release. The film’s former title, Nero Fiddled, while an appropriate and humorous phrase in the U.S., is not a familiar expression overseas and many international territories preferred a more globally understood name.

Anyway new images and a soundtrack listing.

Shouldn't there be a trailer soon? I know she has a small part but none of these official pictures have Ellen in them even though she has quite a few of on set paparazzi shots.

Definitely, a trailer shouldn't be far away. With the ensemble cast Allen always bring to his movie is hard to tell how big of a role an actor has and since this is a movie consists of vignettes it's more tricky.

The previous two titles produce more curiosity but this new title is more audience friendly, so I can't fault them. Anyway, changing the title doesn't make me less interested in the film. Hope it won't be long until we get to see a trailer.

Penelope! :hrt:

The new title sounds too generic but whatever.

I preferred the original title of the 'Bop Decameron'.

Jesse eisenberg would actually do well playing a young woody allen imo.

A video from Italy with footage from the film!

Love the shots of Woody and Judy Davis

The trailer may pop up next week.

Well you can count my interest of Woody Allen back from before I saw Midnight in Paris. Which wasn't any.

Penelope Cruz in a red dress however. Sweet Jesus Christ.

Oh baby

I can't to see what a total dirty **** she is in this movie :awesome:

So when was the last time Woody appeared in his own movie? Also when was the last time Roberto Begnini made a good one?

I laughed at a few of the parts. Looks like a good movie.

As always with his films, I'm there but it helps that it seems to be another charming film, and Woody's on front of the camera once again.

Also Eisenberg and Page seems to be made to be in a Woody Allen film.

For Woody it's Scoop, that was 6 years ago, not long but it's delightful every time he's on-screen in one of his films. I can't think of a good movie Roberto was in latest where he had a prominent role, he was in that live-action Italian version of Pinocchio where he played Pinocchio, the English dubbed version of it was nominated for a lot of Razzies awards. I myself wasn't so curious to actually check it out.

When Woody isn't in his own movies, usually the main character kinda embodies Woody's persona. Except for Match Point.

This is terrible, but I don't care about the Italian subplots bleh

Really? It's too early to tell but I think it's nice that Allen chose to include Italian and Spanish (for Cruz's segment, right?) speaking vignettes and they seems very ludicrous from the other vignettes, I'm curious to say the least.

Well, you can count Cassandra's Dream too, which it's reminiscent of Landau's segment in Crimes and Misdemeanors.

But I've always like that, the actors he choose always work, some good ones are Michael Caine in Hannah and Her Sisters even though he's in supporting role, Kenneth Branagh in Celebrity, John Cusack in Bullets Over Broadway, Rebecca Hall in Vicky Cristina Barcelona and a recent one but another good example, Owen Wilson in Midnight in Paris.

Well, here's more detailed info on each part. Dunno about the accuracy but it's interesting.

Spoiler warning obviously: http://www.ellenpage.org/newsscript.php?id=289

Specifically, more info on the Baldwin/Eisenberg & Ellen vignette:
The remaining chapter centers around Jack (Jesse Eisenberg) and his girlfriend Sally (Greta Gerwig), a young American couple living in Rome's popular district of Trastevere. Their world is turned upside down by the arrival of Sally's best friend in the shape of Monica (Ellen Page). The bi-curious actress has just split up with her boyfriend, which eventually led to her first sexual encounter with a woman. These factors, combined with Monica's charming appearance and sweetness, have a magical attraction on Jack. As is typical for a Woody Allen film, the obligatory love triangle is not long in coming. But wait, isn't there another actor standing in the background in most of the scenes?

According to Ciak, all this is told by the adult Jack (Alec Baldwin), who became an architect in California and re-experiences his ancient memories while visiting the Italian capital with his friends. This also explains why Page and Eisenberg are making out in front of him at the end of the trailer and would be characteristic for Woody Allen's odd-ball humor. Put another way, Ellen interacts with both actors, but they are actually the same person.

I love that! :awesome:
