Worries about a new conservative era in movies

Hi all,

Every since the end of last year I’ve been hearing more and more about movie studios changing movies to make them more conservative like Disney removing trans characters from their films. Of course this is nothing new but still worrying.

Just wanted to have a chat to hear people’s thoughts, if it’s something that worries them too. I guess my point is, more than ever if you are progressive or just human make sure you vote with your dollars and support movies with diverse leads etc

Studios chase $$ so wherever that will be the strongest chance of ROI on their budgets is where they will go.

The propo click bait websites will flash headlines about either " trans "insert role" in danger of being fired " or the reverse - hired if they think it will get clicks and pump up their ads revenue.

The "conservatives" get told that trans / alphabet folks etc are "invading" the world in all industries, reality is they've always been there just were camouflaged / hiding in plain sight.


Hollywood has since it's inception had closets in all roles of the industry - including executives.

The time where being gay is a " sin " financially is pretty well over.

With most actors and writers being more often left leaning it'd be interesting to see how some right leaning agenda was enacted by studios.

But if people in general aka society were to swing predominantly that way for some reason, that's where the (Big) studios will go.
