Worst Performances By Good Actors

brilliant post.

the girl is hot.was in some fun movies. but a really good actor? come ooooooooooooon guys. it also explains why she was so crying.even she knew that she didnt deserve it.

Thanks. Yeah, it really is pretty stupid. Hollywood was just sick of getting a bad wrap for not giving oscars to African Americans, so they copped out and gave it to someone who didn't deserve it.

...whats wrong with Meet the Parents? That was a good comedy.

It was a good comedy but IMO De Niro just isn't good for comedy. I know some will disagree but i honestly can't see him doing the funny stuff.

Since when was McConaughey a good actor?
THat one time in A Time To Kill.
Seriously every time i watch that time , i have to urge to beat McConaughey with a bat for making ******ed rom-com flicks

How can people consider Nic Cage a good actor?

The problem with Cage is that his can only play his quirky self in certain movies. Like Raising Arizona .
But like many actors nowadays he's asking for scripts to be rewritten to suit which sometimes can lead to disastreous results.

Adaptation -> Perfect Cage Material
Ghost Rider -> not so much

Jon Voight in every movie he's done in about the past 10-15 years. (Ones that stand out are Transformers, An American Carol, National Treasure 1 & 2, and ANACONDA).

^ I agree even though I thought he redeemed himself a little bit in the current season of 24.

I've listed this one before, and I'll surely be listing it again, John Travolta in 'Broken Arrow'. Honestly, was it possible for him to quit smirking for like... a minute? Or something like that?... Throughout the majority of the film, he's got that annoying smirk on his face... God help me:o

Natalie Portman. I know Its not fair to blame her for The Phantom Menace. But I cringe when I think of her acting in those prequels.

And since then I've not liked a single movie shes been in and avoid her movies like stinky tofu. I've only actually seen V for Vendetta. I refuse to watch any other. Even if I'm tied to a chair with my eyes held open like A clockwork Orange I'll hold my breath and hope my eye balls pop out.

LOL, hes hilarious in Anaconda.

Well since you've only seen V for Vendetta and the ****** Star Wars prequels you don't have much ground to stand on when you say you haven't liked a single movie she's been in.

Three out of those four are horrible. Although I loved the book, the movie V for Vendetta was still pretty good aside from changing the books original intentions/message.

Seriously, do not judge her acting ability from the craptastic SW prequels. I recommend watching Leon The Professional. One of her earlier films and even back then when she was real young she gave a much better performance than a lot of the older dumb broads in the industry today.

Yeah, I like Portman but her acting ability seems bi-polar... though it's probably just because she's opted to star in some horrible films. She either flat-out sucks (Star Wars, Where the Heart Is, Mr. Magorium's Masterbatorium) or is brilliant (Garden State, Leon, Closer).

I can't think of a good Al Pacino performance lately.

I DID see Leon. :)
Shes great in that! I probably should have mentioned that in my post. Either way, I still can't bring myself to watch any of her recent ones. I couldn't stand her accent in V for Vendetta but that was a decent movie. She was decent in Closer. I totally forgot about that one. But in general when I'm browsing netflix or blockbuster I haven't clicked on her movies.

Ewan Macgregor in Robots....honestly, he tried to put on an American-ish accent for the animated flick's lead, but it kept going in and out.

I hear you, you do have a point. But for every Transformers theres a Rosewood or a Holes role in there. And hes been good on 24 this season.
But the glory days of Runaway Train are long behind him now.
I will always love him for Runaway Train :yay:

Last movie I enjoyed Pacino in was Insomnia.

Pacino's last good role was in "Donnie Brasco".

Ouch... yeah, Ewan definitely sucks at doing an American accent. He can do a Southern American accent pretty well (Big Fish) but the only time he's even done a semi-convincing regular American accent was in Velvet Goldmine. And even there it wasn't perfect.

But if you want to see Ewan REALLY f**k something up, watch Deception. He tries to do a New York accent. It's just painful. The movie totally sucks, too. Definitely not a great moment for Ewan, Hugh Jackman or Michelle Williams.

I hate to do it... but I have to say it. Norton in TIH.

Liam Neeson in the Star Wars prequels
Ewan McGregor in the Star Wars prequels
Natalie Portman in the Star Wars prequels

You have got to be sh**ting me?! McGregor was the saving grace in those crapfests. Taking aside some of the horrible dialogue Lucas made him vomit, he did as good a job as you can expect.

I'll shout it from the rooftops :D

Yes, he was dry in that role.

Liam Neeson in the first movie and Ewan from then on were the only ones acting in the whole series. I agree.

Ian MacDermid was good in Episode 5, 6, and even 1 and 2 but he went all out over the top in 3 and was too much. He made the dumbest faces while killing the jedi and Mace Windu.

People forget that Lucas' dialog and the way he makes characters so bland gives them little to work with.

I thought Norton was great in TIH, personally...

But that brings to mind someone else: Eric Bana in Hulk. But with dialogue that bad, anyone would have sucked. "My very important brain?" Wow. Never mind that the stupid "comic panel" view thing was one of the worst ideas in the history of superhero cinema... it made all of the actors unwatchable. I'll go to my grave saying that Ang Lee is one of the most overrated directors to walk this earth.

I actually thought Bana was better than Norton and that Ang's delt with the characters more than the new one. I trully think Ang's Hulk was better than LL's. Atleast Bana could show rage and angst where Norton was dull and dry, IMO.
