I was browsing the net when I came upon the screenplay for X-Men written by Andrew Kevin Walker. This script was written prior to the first film. And I am pretty sure this is the first time the script has been released to be read by the public- or at least it's the newest update to the "Simplyscripts" movie script page.

Andrew Kevin Walker also wrote 'Seven', '8mm' and 'Sleepy Hollow'.

Just wondering what your opinions on it are.

All over the planet, unusual children are born with an added twist to their genetic code. This "X-factor" allows the children to perform extraordinary feats - flight, telekinetics, laser beams from the eyes and more. One Dr. Charles Xavier gathers the children to a place where he can train them to use their powers for themselves and the forces of good he dubs these children his X-men and hijinks ensue.

Donovan writes, "...Andrew Kevin Walker's scripts are always great to read, but I'm pretty sure this one is unfilmable: wildly ambitious and astronomically expensive, shoehorning (very skilfully, but still) way too much of everything you'd ever want in an X-Men film into just 129 pages. It's still a great read, though. He wrote this shortly before "Seven" went into production."

Haven't read it yet, going to start now... but, due to that bold part thought I should post it here for you guys to read as well. "Everything you'd ever want in an X-Man film."

I remember reading this years and years ago. I think I found it on Drew's Script-o-Rama back then. ( I don't remember much about it except Blob's recruitment from a circus, Prof. X making a police officer think Beast was Mel Gibson, and Magneto using the Meril Lynch bull as a weapon during some climactic battle). But for the most part, I remember the script being pretty good. It'll be fun to read it again after so many years and compare it to what really took place on screen.

Also heck out 'Asylum', Walker's Batman Vs Superman script.

i'm about halfway through this X Men script, it's got a lot of great elements to it, especially the way wolverine and his relationship with sabretooth are handled (and he nailed sabretooth character-wise). i think in about another two drafts it could have been a great movie and better than the one we got. the problems with it now are mostly with scene order and the way everything flows, and some of the dialogue. still pretty good though.
