Alien 3 is the universally most hated of the franchise.

I liked that movie, too.

1. Aliens
2. Alien/Alien2: Resurrection

I like Alien 3 more than Resurrection. Although ROn Perlman is cool and was the highlight of that movie.

I think they should have left it at Aliens, at least for those characters. After all the dark stuff it was cool to have a happy ending, but instead with Alien 3 they decided to go with a more negative conclusion.

then why is X3 getting positive buzz from the European press?
face it, tastes in movies is subjective. every movie has naysayers, sometimes the naysayers out weigh the supporters, it might be the case here.

I think I'll wait until it gets screened, but with DaVinci, hopes are high. It's a prestige piece, a film that was intended to be an Oscar contender. It's more fun for critics to poke at a movie like that when it bombs (remember Memoirs of a Geisha?).

With X3, their hopes won't be as high.

Memoirs of a Geisha WAS bad though.
there was no emotional center to the movie. it was pretty but hollow and skipped out on a lot of the good things about the book.

the Aliens are a parasitical biomechanical organism that takes on the traits of their host bodies from incubation. they're nomadic in nature.

 Does that mean they were...... made or something?

a lot of this is explained in the Alien Quadrilogy boxset. good stuff...:)

Umm, I want that!!

i think there's a theory that they were engineered.
JokerNick probably remembers more than i do. i haven't watched the movies in a while....i should do that.

yeah, I need to invest in that set. I have the box matrix set with the animatrix movies and the original scripts.

Ouch. According to Empire (online) the DaVinci code receives 2 (out of five) stars?

Okay, I was watching Fox news just now and the reporter was talking about The DVC, and said the movie is expected to make 60 million dollars this weekend!!! He also mentioned X3, and talked about how well it might do next weekend and how critics won't have to be worried about it like the DVC!!!

"What the hell is wrong with Ron Howard. He's had some bad luck in his last few films at the box office."

Along with M Night, the most overrated filmmaker out there at the moment.

Apollo13 is definitelyl the best thing hes ever done.

And Ill never forgive him for The Grinch which is one of the worst pieces of **** Ive ever had the misfortune of sitting through. Thats really saying something but Ive seen some crappy movies.

I like his daughter Bryce though:)

M. Night....talk about a one trick pony!
he's terrible. his movies are so predictable.

I felt the exact oppisite. I thought it was very deep simple but deep with a lot of emotion.

Yes, most of the movie sites are predicting $60-$70M for DaVinci. It will be interesting to see what it does.

Question - was the reporter Bill McCuddy? He'll probably talk about X-3 Sunday morning - he spoke with some of them last week and just raved about Hugh and how he's such a trooper on junkets and one of the nicest guys and never complains.

Empire's review on X3 should be coming soon...

They are now saying "the week of release". Probably an embargo from the Fox. If they break embargoes they may not get invited to early screenings.

They may want to wait until after the movie premieres at Cannes on Monday and for the press in LA.

Remember guys that tomarrow ebert and roeper are going to review the movie.

did you read the book?
if not, they missed out entire chunks and some of the most interesting things from it that could've made the movie so much better. as it was it was just a love story....meh....it had so much potential.
