My moderation comment goes for that as well. Working non stop for loooong periods of time is just as bad as playing games for loooong periods of time. Moderation is key, for anything.

But its good his parents are speaking up about this, like you brought up, people who have to sit at work for long periods of time might not be aware of the damage they could potentially be doing.

I sit in one position a lot...especially this summer...no job and all. I have my xbox right next to my computer, and I pretty much just stay here. I was going to start hitting the gym in my apartment area some more but a new game got me hooked. Looks like i better get out more

It's a cautionary tale. I've seen this reported before and it's possible sitting for prolonged hours can do it but if you're out of shape and/or you do it often it's more likely to affect you.

That is nuts, I don't know how he can do the marathon sessions. I do them every once and a while but even then I get bored or my back starts to hurt so I gotta go out and take a break. Sad stuff there.

I saw this earlier today, ridiculous. How can you sit in one place for so long, didn't he have to pee? Get hungry? Something? I've gotten sucked into a game before, but not for 12 hours at a time.

I don't think the blood clot came from being addicted to sitting all that time playing games or sitting in still position for several hours alone, I know someone who would be dead if that was the only cause, if you know No.1 PS3 trophy collector personally you'd say the gamepad is glued to his fingers
