Xbox Xbox Series X|S Thread

It’s at geetard’s link isn’t it?
yes. But MS hasn't officially come out and confirmed that $499 price for the Series X. MS just confirmed the existence, price, and design of the Series S.

However, since the leaked report in geetard's link got the Series S price and design right, then it is fairly safe to say that the Series X info is also correct. It's just that MS hasn't officially confirmed that part.

Hopefully this week is when we will get the big info blowout from MS.

$499 is fine. But more importantly I wonder if they can guarantee adequate availability so I can actually get one on November 10.

Sony's shenanigans making people apply for approval to have a chance to preprder is a crock of ****, and I dont want Microsoft to mimic that nonsense.
Well, in a battle of limited supplies, whoever can offer the greatest availability will certainly have the advantage. And MS certainly needs all the advantage it can get.

If someone goes to the store or site and wants to order/preorder the PS5, and it's unavailable due to low supply, but the Series X (and now Series S) is available, that could sway some people over towards Xbox if they really want to get a next-gen console.

Oh right, gotya. Thanks.

Digital only, 512 NVMe SSD, 1440p at up to 120 FPS, 4K upscaling (games) and 4K streaming media.

@geetard are you interested in the Series S? Just asking curiously because you voted PC in the misc forum thread

No XSS or XSX for me. If I have to buy a console for the upcoming gen, it'll be a PS5 but it won't be at launch.

It depends on Sony and where they'll be with their PC ports of their first parties.

I think Jim Ryan said you can expect more PC releases of their 1st party softwares but not same day and date as on their hardware.

Even if I don't get a Series X, I'm gonna buy that white Series S controller so I can play games on my laptop or Xcloud on my laptop or phone. I'm actually very interested to try out Xcloud, just to see what the experience is like.

that is not a bad deal if you are only doing digital or have game pass but since I still have a good stack of discs plus I use my One X as my 4K blu ray player I am still getting the Series X.

I didn't know that they included an actual release date in that video until I saw it. Damn these next 8 weeks are going to come by so fast. I can't wait to see how these new consoles will launch during a pandemic and with very few exclusives.

I like the design of Series S more than Series X though it looks like a router without an antenna and it also looks like a speaker.

$499 confirmed for XSX. Pre-orders are live on the 22nd for a Nov. 10 release.

Xbox Series X | Xbox

-edit- And EA Play is now available with Game Pass for free!

Nice!! And Game Pass gets even more valuable! Xcloud and now EA Play! That's insane!

I was holding out the slim hope that the Series X could come in at $400. But that was always doubtful and I always expected $500.

Now, the big question is what will the price of the PS5 be? The ball is now in Sony's court.

Gears Tactics for console launch too, nice.

Hopefully this isn't the full scope of what MS has planned for this month and that we get an another, actual proper event of some sort.

the closer we get to November the more we're gonna know about the console. It's gonna be in people's homes so they gotta know what they're buying.

true. but I want at least one more big-style event blowout. also, just saw a tweet from Phil Spencer, and apparently the info we are getting now was planned for next week, but the leaks forced their hand.

maybe they still have something else planned for next week? It's doubtful, but some kind of surprise game announcement could really seal the deal for me.

hmm...normally I would say don't count on that happening but since this year is all kinds of fxcked up, I think there is a chance mS could have another press conference to celebrate the launch.

yeah, I'm not a fan of this scattered, slow-drip approach to releasing info. It makes me miss E3.....lol.

that's why I feel like there just needs to be one more big "go-home" event to maximize excitement for the new consoles.
