Youtube Has Been Blocked!

I logged on this morning to find an online notice stating that youtube has been blocked by my firm's IT department. The bloody hell!!! They said that it was due to "offensive" content, but as far as I knew there were censors to keep that stuff off and reserved for sites like pornotube, is that not correct??

Has anyone else heard of or experienced youtube being blacklisted at the job?


I had the bestest playlist evah saved there...

Every company I've been to we've never had blocks on any sites. I wouldn't go on youtube anyway, it's bad enough I'm on the hype during work, I just put it in the corner of my screen and type away.

At my last company, we had 4 widescreen tv's playing music videos all day, so that wasn't so bad. Now I've got bloomberg everywhere, the theme tune gets very annoying.

Youtube was blocked at my Hubby's work place for the same reason.

Yes, youtube does have censors, but so many videos get posted a day that unless someone complains about a video it can be up for a while.

Ask jag, I posted a link to a video in his 80's hair band thread that had naked women in it... (I didn't even realize it, because I only watched the first minute and listened to the rest).
