Guns & Ammo Editor Says Some Regulation Might Not Be So Bad, Readers Flip Out

Then what about hunters? I think its a no brainer to have an evaluation process when purchasing a firearm but what about all these stories of children taking their parents weapons and shooting up a school?

In my mind its like the drug war, you never truly find a 100% fix for the worlds problems. Evil people will always find a way to do what they must.
Of course there will never be a %100 fix for the massive gun violence problem in the United States, or most other world problems.

But that doesn't mean we should do nothing about it like these gun nuts would like. A man recieved public death threats and was fired for daring to suggest reasonable(and incredibly minimal) gun regulations. Gee which side of the gun regulation argument seems more rational?

I have no words to describe the amount of uneasiness I feel from the original post.

A person making a reasonable comment that actually makes sense, gets fired.
I seriously despair of the Human Race sometimes...

I don't despair but I do find myself increasingly disappointed at how extreme elements are controlling and managing society.

The biggest issue I have with the whole second amendment debate is when the Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution they had very inefficient firearms. If they saw what was available today I really wonder if the second amendment would read the same way. Someone mentioned cars and driving and that's it's not a given right, but again when the constitution was written cars weren't invented, maybe it would've been a given right to drive one if they were invented back then.

Somebody break out the time machine and get John Adams and Ben Franklin here. Maybe we can get them to add a 'within reason' to that one.

I've been calling Doc Brown all day but he hasn't returned my calls yet

US love of guns is hilarious form an outsiders perspective. What seems like reasonable requirements gets a bunch of people bent out of shape screaming 'they're losing their freedom'. It's like some sections of the US are adverse to common sense and modern thinking. The US is not going to be overrun by some foreign invader, your aren't losing your freedoms. Go to North Korea then come back to me and talk about your loss of 'freedom'.

Crazy socialist talk if ever there was.
