šŸ€ NBA: Let’s Get Hoop’d

Brown's injury makes things interesting. He's probably not going to be ready to go at the start of the season, and knee injuries always concern me. Those never seem to go away.
I’m not a doctor, but I have had two meniscus tears in the past year. They do not heal. There is no blood flow to the meniscus, so there is no way to heal them or to repair them. All that can happen is to shave them down to remove any fraying and to relieve discomfort. But there is always the damage and the weakness. My two tears has basically erased my ability to jump. It’s quite painful and it is a frustrating injury.

The only real relief that you get from it is steroid injections in the knee. But obviously this is a short-term fix and I don’t know how it would work for an NBA player with an 82 game schedule. The initial injection that I got was strange inasmuch as the knee’s flexibility was non-existent immediately after because so much fluid was introduced behind the kneecap.

Didn't Kwahi and KAT have meniscus tears? They seem to be doing okay.

Are you sure you could jump before??? :eheh:

Lonzo Ball also had a meniscus tear and hasn’t been able to play as a result.

But please never compare me to Lonzo Ball.

Man.....when OKC turns up that D, they are absolutely stifling. I really like the way the Pacers are playing, but I just don't see how anyone can beat the Thunder. They are SO deep and play such good D, it's ridiculous.

Well at least there will be no sweep

NBA is weird man, but I have to say that shocked the living S*** out of me.
Me, too. Maybe the Knicks need to be down 20 to turn it on

Also Thibs played more of the bench yesterday

it's Brunson he is a huge liability on Defense in game 1 we went up 16 while he was on the bench behind deuce playing defense then he comes in back to ISO ball and everyone watching the team is better when we go through Towns but he is also a liability on defense picking up cheap fouls. it looks good when he hits the clutch 3 but we usually have our down cause he gets torched on defense but the media here won't say it

and it doesn't help that we DON'T have a homecourt advantage everyone and i mean everyone gets up to play in the Garden you play well in that building and you become legendary in the playoffs and the home team plays tight cause they don't want to boos to start raining down, millers famous fourth qtr and choke sign they made a 30 for 30 on that AND THEY LOST THAT SERIES

it's frustrating AF as a knicks fan don't get me started on the lunatics who celebrate every win likes it's game 7 of the finals

And here I thought ALL NY sports fans were lunatics. In fact, that's why I like them. :funny: I get a huge kick out of the NY fans on all the boards. The Batman guy (Mets fan) on the MLB thread is especially entertaining.

I'm pretty sure OKC closes out the series and I don't see Knicks/Pacers going beyond 6.

I"m a lunatic don't get it twisted I just not young enough to be in those crowds late at night i'll be yawning by the start of 4th qtr on late games

That's an interesting stat, but you have to remember that there were only 8 playoff teams until some time in the mid-80s. So in order to get to 80 wins a team now has to win 68 games (a great record, but doable) instead of 72 games (damn near impossible; although it was done by both the Bulls and Warriors).

I don't know what the hell happened to the Thunder in that game 3 when they lost by 40+ points, but it doesn't matter whether you win by 1 or 100. It's 1 win either way. I don't see how they possibly lose more than 2 games in a series to anyone.

Not a fan of the firing of Thibs. This is the best we've been in 25 years. Two games away from playing for a championship. Probably playing the Thunder if they didn't blow game one. Anyway....

Potential coaches

My biggest criticism of Thibs is that he doesn't just shave his head and has that little swoosh looking thing on top. This was a standard, stupid Knicks front office move. They will not find another better and he's going to be courted by a LOT of teams. I guarantee you, he's not sweating it. He might be disappointed, but he knows there's another job out there waiting for him.

Ha. The Knicks are a team built upon a long history of bad front office moves and coaches who are ugly as sin. (See Jeff Van Gundy).

As for Thibs, ask. Chicago how showing him the door worked out for them

Some owners would do better to fire themselves rather than the coaches who take a clearly flawed, and injured, team to the east finals.

Speaking of Van Gundy, a long, long time ago when he was coaching, being the feisty guy that he is, he got into a scuffle with someone from the other team. I don't remember if it was one of the coaches or players or what, but what I do remember clearly is that when he got up, his combover was sticking straight up in the air and he had what looked like a mohawk. :funny:
