Iām not a doctor, but I have had two meniscus tears in the past year. They do not heal. There is no blood flow to the meniscus, so there is no way to heal them or to repair them. All that can happen is to shave them down to remove any fraying and to relieve discomfort. But there is always the damage and the weakness. My two tears has basically erased my ability to jump. Itās quite painful and it is a frustrating injury.Brown's injury makes things interesting. He's probably not going to be ready to go at the start of the season, and knee injuries always concern me. Those never seem to go away.
The only real relief that you get from it is steroid injections in the knee. But obviously this is a short-term fix and I donāt know how it would work for an NBA player with an 82 game schedule. The initial injection that I got was strange inasmuch as the kneeās flexibility was non-existent immediately after because so much fluid was introduced behind the kneecap.
