If not Vettel and Ferrari then who? They've really got to step up their game and get some long term consistency. I mean he's a 4 time championship winner, he has the experience.

Barring a major change, not many options right now. As much as I'd like it, I don't see Red Bull/Honda being a challenger in their first year. McLaren and Williams aren't likely to dramatically improve. Renault have been taking their time getting going. Even if Force India have more money now I don't really see them rising that high.

Hamilton on pole, with Vettel 5th after taking account of his grid-place penalty.

Yeah, Red Bull/Honda are a work in progress with long term promise but next season will be too early for them. Hamilton has to be a big favourite for next season again. After that there's time for rivals to catch up and quality drivers to find form.

Raikonnen leading the US grand prix so far. Hamilton 2nd and Vettel 5th.

No title win for Hamilton today. It finishes Raikonnn first, Verstappen 2nd, Hamilton 3rd and Vettel 4th. 70 points now the gap so I believe Lewis needs 5 points (7th place) in the next race to be champion (assuming Vettel wins - if he doesn't then Hamilton is champion anyway).

KIMI !!! I can't believe that he won! Super, I was cheering when he crossed the line. The last 15-10 laps were so intense! I couldn't be more happy for Kimi, he deserved it and it was long overdue!

Btw, did anyone notice this guy:

Yes, very happy for him. Feels like ages ago that he won a race.

It was Murray Walker.

Well, that was certainly an interesting race!

Glad Kimi got the win, he deserves it. Glad the championship keeps on rolling, even if it still is virtually decided already.

Yet another mistake by Seb early on, thought the title was decided at that point. Danny Ric has had the worst reliability luck this season, quite annoying as he's one of my favourite drivers.

Ricciardo has a good future for sure, very talented guy. The luck won't be there forever.

The title is pretty much certain next race outside of a retirement.

Haha. In the next race Lewis just needs to make it to the roots of the tree and he will win whoever gets to the top first.

For sure!

Quali is coming soon! Max Verstappen looked quite strong in free practice and so did Ricciardo. Red Bull seems strong here in MeHik0! :P

Hopefully a good sign for next season if Red Bull finish strong.

Nice to see both Red Bulls leading the field in qualifying. Hamilton starts 3rd and Vettel 4th.

Danny Ric! Getting ready for the race, let's see how the Bulls handle the first corner.

Looking forward to the race. Hopefully they do ok. I'd like the title decided today too and after this race it would be good if some other guys get a chance to pick up a victory.

Ricciardo mucks up the start. Hamilton comes through to 2nd with Verstappen leading. Alonson also makes contact with someone and goes wide.

Hamilton had a tyre lock up earlier and now playing safe to the end of the race. Alonso was out earlier unfortunately (meaning no F1 laps record for him) and Ricciardo just went out too. :csad:

Could be the 3rd safety car in this race!

Verstappen wins the Mexican GP! (very happy for him)
Vettel 2nd and Raikonnen 3rd.
Hamilton way back in 4th but enough to takes the title! Congrats, 5 time champion!!

Max was great! The Maverick of F1! Seb had a solid drive too, but it was Lewis' day imo! 5 times World Champion is a huge achievement, only Michael Schumacher and Juan Manuel Fangio have so many titles (Michael has 7 in fact). Congrats to Lewis & Mercedes!

It's a great achievement. Awesome for Max. He is so promising for the future. And Vettel might have at least got some pleasure from overtaking Hamilton in the title-winning race (and helping knock him off the podium lol).

I kind of had to skip through most of the race, but hopefully we get more varied battles like that next season.
Congrats to Lewis, unlucky for Vettel.
Can't believe Ricciardo got yet another DNF, understandably upset and 'done' with that car.

I hope Red Bull can kick on next season. I'd like to see Lewis get the all time championships record but aside from that I'd love to see Verstappen and Ricciardo stay together at Red Bull long term as it turns into a powerhouse team.
