The George Kamitani-directed sci-fi mecha game.

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, the 2015-announced sci-fi mecha game from Dragon’s Crown and Odin Sphere developer VanillaWare, will be released in North America and Europe,



Atlus announced.
Directed by George Kamitani, the game is a departure from VanillaWare’s traditional fantasy style, taking place in a modern setting highlighted by giant mechs.



While the world “may be bleak,” according to Atlus, VanillaWare’s “signature artistic shine and gorgeous aesthetics will bring the characters and story of 13 Sentinels to life.”


Two things to note about this announcement:

  • While 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is announced for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in Japan, the press release from Atlus U.S.A. does not mention platforms. When asked for clarification, an Atlus representative told Gematsu it has not announced platforms. (Update 10:43 a.m.: While the official website doesn’t feature any game console logos, the bottom does read, “The ‘PS’ Family logo and the ‘PSVITA’ logo are registered trademarks. ‘PS4’ is a trademark of Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc.”)
  • While the press release does not mention whether 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim will appear at E3 2017, the game was leaked as part of the Atlus / Sega lineup in April.

VanillaWare's latest game still without a release date.

Atlus has released the E3 2017 teaser trailer for 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, its upcoming title from VanillaWare that takes place in a modern setting highlighted by giant mechs.




A release window for both the Japanese and western releases have yet to be announced. In Japan, the game is confirmed for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. In the west, Atlus has yet to officially confirm platforms, but a previous slip-up suggests it will be the same as Japan.

Publisher Atlus and developer VanillaWare have released the debut trailer for 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Prologue, the newly announced paid demo for the upcoming science-fiction adventure game.

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Music and Art Clips including original packaging, a 36-page visual book, a 10-track mini soundtrack CD, an original PlayStation 4 theme and avatar set download code, and 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Prologue for PlayStation 4 on Blu-ray disc. It is due out on March 14 in Japan.

I'm completely sure this one's a beat-em up. it seems slightly different and thatthey are trying something new. which is good . It's good to be known for more then just one thing or style.

Full version gets a release window.

VanillaWare-developed dramatic adventure game 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim will launch for PlayStation 4 this fall in Japan, publisher Atlus announced.

A western release of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is also planned, but has yet to receive a release date.

Before the full release, users can play the first three hours of the story and control all 13 main characters via the 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Prologue due out on March 14 in Japan. It will be available digitally via the PlayStation Store for 980 yen, as well as physically via the 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Music and Art Clips package for 2,980 yen.

A download code for 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Prologue is also included with the Odin Sphere: Leifhtrasir and Dragon’s Crown Pro New Price Version Campaign Packs due out on March 14 for 3,980 yen each.

Save data from 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Prologue cannot be carried over to the full release. Read more about the buying options here.
