Also, remind people that a good 15 minutes, doesn't mean 1-2 word answers. Not telling people to write a novel, but at least be interesting.

I always found hunting and contract killing operated on a similar circuit: the mounting of the stag head is on the same tier as marking the slayings one one's skin (although I am not saying the claiming of an animal life holds the same weight as that of a human; namely, the trophy practice is what I find morbid.) Hence, Mr. Zsasz's monstrous impulses can be cured through the finest medicine and therapy.

Where do you see yourself and what do you see yourself doing 10 years from now?

I would be 33. I would have at least two novels published, a completed independent film, and my student loans paid off. Hopefully, I would have a vacation home in Maine.

What's the origin of your name?

My flesh and blood handle was derived from that of my father; my user handle was from my favorite character...and Cranes also make up a few branches of my family tree.

Who do you feel closest to here on the Hype?

It's a tie between Piper Maru, Lord, and Boom.

If you were to meet any Hypester in real life, who would it be and what would you do?

It is tied between CCONN, and I would love to discuss film with, and Piper Maru, with whom I would discuss horror, Lovecraft, and Lynch.

Where is home for you? Where would you like home to be?

Home is close to my family; I love Pennsylvania, but would move to New England in heartbeat. My fantasy of success would have me living in Scotland, with a Scottish wife, and making my money by writing for the BBC.

I love the outdoors: hiking, walking, gardening, and bird watching. I also immersed in literature, both of the leisure and academic varieties: I am a junkie of Lovecraft, Tolkien, Norse Myths, folk tales, the occult, and what can be best described as 'Weird History.' Also, as I have noted, I am a film enthusiast: my first film was Batman Returns and it left a lasting impression on me. It revealed the magic of cinema to me through the unrestrained artistry. And of course, at last, but not least, I like history, especially professional re-enacting: I was a Revolutionary War soldier/farmer tour guide/living historian for a summer, and it was one of the best jobs I have had. The only downside was the visiting public, which always had a handful of ********s who would argue with me and tell me I did not know my history.

What 3 dvd's would you bring to a deserted island?

For the first question, anything; I am open to everything and anything, in that front. as for the DVD's, I would say The Departed, Hellboy II, and the Big Lebowski.

By both Batgirls you mean Cassie and Steph or Babs and Cassie?

You being a buff on Norse mythology makes it more fitting to see Thor listed. Do you like the original myth form more or the Marvel reinvention?

I meant Babs and Steph...haven't read any of the issues featuring Cassie, yet. I grew up with the original Norse myths and discovered Marvel somewhat late in life. Having said that, I enjoy them equally.

Any relation to Ichabod?

Have you ever been attacked with or by pumpkins?

Nope on both accounts.

Although I have been meaning to visit Terrytown/SH for quite some time. Once I get a job, I will get around to doing it.

What are your thoughts on remakes/reboots?

I am quite open minded toward reboot and remakes: for instance, I really liked the 'Halloween', 'Judge Dredd,' and 'Friday the 13th' ones. Right now I am trying, but, cannot recall any that I do not like.

In terms of remakes, I did not care for Gus Van Sant's 'Psycho,' 'Never Say Never Again,' and Herzog's 'Nosferatu.' Again, there are some that are good, such as 'Bram Stoker's Dracula,' 'Scarface,' 'The Thing,' and so on.

Funniest slasher films?

Freddy's Dead. I put that on every Halloween and laugh my arse off.

If you could live in any fictional universe what would it be?

Middle Earth. Ever since I picked up the book fair paperback of the Fellowship, I have been entranced by the beauty of it. The level of detail Tolkien applied to it is unrivaled, when one considers the histories, family trees, and languages (I wrote Elvish poetry when I was middle and in high school.) Details aside, the place is magical, in all senses of the word.

What's in your playlist?

Selected tracks from:
Bob Seger-Greatest Hits
David Arnold: Sherlock (TV series) Series 1 + 2 OST
Howard Shore: Return of the King (Extended)
Hans Zimmer: Inception
Daft Punk: Tron Legacy
Hans Zimmer: TDKR
Pink Floyd: Animals
Elton John: Madman Across the Water
and Nightmare Before Christmas OST (I love Patrick Stewart's narration in it; I listen to it before I go to sleep...or alternate with an Alan Rickman audio.

If you cold go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

England. All of my favorite texts (novels, plays, films and tv series) are set/filmed there, and I would love to see the locations I read about (such as Whitby.)

Favorite episodes of the Angry Video game Nerd?

I have two categories:

*the hilarious ones*

-Lester the Unlikely
-Kid Kool
-Day Dreamin' Davy
-Action 52 + Cheetahmen
-Dark Castle

I turn to these titles when I am down or stressed, and suddenly everything is right again.

*the critical/autbiographical ones

-Castlevania series
-Dick Tracy
-Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde

jonathancrane... if you could epitomize what you feel a perfect human being should be, how would you describe yourself?

I don't believe or care for perfection; faults are a terrific way to gauge character not because of their presence, but how people compensate for them. I have one friend who had a recurring habit of standing me up for get-togethers; but, when I asked for their advice on assembling an Ichabod Crane costume for Halloween, they typed up an eleven page document of the materials I would need for the costume, where to find them (and how to get them discounted,) and how to modify them to match the color scheme in the film. So, those 're my thoughts on perfection...as for myself? One of my faults is also a strength: I always keep my promises. No matter what I am stacked against, I fulfill them, come the abyss or high water, and I refuse to never fulfill them. This requires an undercutting and elimination of some favorable options, times and adventures, but I always fulfill them.

Favourite CBM's in no particular order?

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
X2
Hellboy II: The Golden Army
X-Men: FC
The Avengers
Thor
The Dark Knight Rises
CA: TFA
The Dark Knight
The Wolverine

Favorite movie musical?

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
