Ok folks some advice...I know this is like every collectors aim to own #1 issues etc of their favourite characters but what price do some of these shift for?

I think there was someone on the hype boards who managed to pick up a hulk #1 for like $500 and now owns 2 of them. Is this a realistic price to pay for them? and where is the best places to buy these rare comics in the UK?

Any advice would be great

So noone on this site from UK can help me out with a location of where's best to find these rare comics? And noone has any idea of price for these things?I cant believe that

Too bad you can't buy patience.

after googling for online shops that sell those things i've come to the conclusion that ebay would be our best bet.

FA of ghost rider only £300 on there. amazing fantasy 15 £318 from canada...plus shipping for both obvioulsy but thats only going to be £3 - £20 depending on where it's coming from...

EDIT:
also i've seen TMNT 1 going for anything between £20 and £80, all graded so it depends when you're on aswell...

Comicspriceguide.com, the Overstreet Price guide, and various others are good ideas where to find the commercial value of a book. But, if it's worth the price is entirely up to you. A book is only worth as much as yer willing to pay fer it.

This is true and I would like to add:

There is also the feeling of just HAVING a copy of your desired issue no matter the condition it comes in. I once knew someone who had a copy of Avengers #1 and loved the thing to death. It wasn't mint (but how many books from that era are) had some wear to it, but he cherished it cuz he loved the Avengers.

(Though years later he sold it for beer money lol)

Best place to buy any collectable comics is conventions. There are many across the UK.
