Oh you are completely wrong there. San Diego LOVES tourists, especially the comic book convention. There is talk of bringing it to LA and San Diego fought it because tourists, especially the con, bring in a huuuuuge amount of income and attention to the city.

I wish they'd move it to LA. That'd save me a 2 hour train ride.

I live in San Diego so I'll be there! Also if you can make it go to Pacific Beach or Ocean Beach communities! Their bars are cheaper and have no cover charge like the Gaslamp bars!

san diego as a whole is soooooooooo much nicer than LA. LA has some great areas but most of it just really sucks. the only thing is LA is far more "lively" or "energetic" or whatever, but during the sdcc it'll be just as vibrant as LA cuz of the tourists without all the crap & smog & junk. I totally reccomend trying to go over to coronado while you're there, that place is just beautiful.

ive been to both cities and i don't think i would go if it moved to LA. SD does have some bad areas (national city, chula vista, certain parts of downtown)...but LA is a city of extremes, it's either a really good area or a really bad area, thats just what i think

Am I wrong for this?....I've been planning this trip for the better part of 6 months. I bought my plane ticket back in May, booked the hotel back in April...now i'm seeing all of these people on boards and stuff looking for rooms, floorspace, or a couch to crash on. I'm in a decent hotel with a pool and a room all to myself, am I wrong for not wanting to share my space because I planned ahead and others didn't? will karma get me for this?

This years Comic Con looks awesome...maybe they'll confirm Spidey 4 cast and crew coming back there as well...probably not going to confirm there but I wish....

O f course there won't be one within 2 years maybe 3 but that's your opinion with the cast...

there having a meeting with Sam on the movies 4th film somewhere within the next two weeks though so you never know...

If you don't want to share, they're your digs, do what you want. But not all of us are procrastinating. I can't speak for everybody else, but I just found out the day I started this thread that I was going to be going.

That said, can you point me to those squatter threads?
