2007 San Diego Comic Con

i thought it was actually past the registration time. only way to get a ticket was to wait in line day of. and that sucks.

They might actually have days that sell out. I know last year they were turning general admission away on saturday

Let's recap:

4 day memberships are all gone. You can get a 3 day or a single day membership.

They will turn away general admission at the door if that day fills up via online registration. So if you haven't registered online and you show up to wait in the massive line, don't be surprised if you don't get in and don't get mad at the people who can stroll in and out with their magic badge. (we planned ahead...get over it)

Bring a bottle and fill it with water at the convention center

Don't smell

Be friendly

Don't stalk famous people if you spot them on the floor (it's rude)

Don't get all cranky if you don't get into a certain panel. Wait till it lets out and get a recap from someone. If you're friendly enough, they might even share picture

If at the con for all 4 days, spend one day just walking the floor and chatting people up.

Drink after you leave, not before you get there. Being drunk and dehydrated is only fun if you don't have to walk all frakkin' day

I certainly will...I plan on doing a day by day recap after i return. I was thinking of dragging the lappy along with me, doing a day by day recap, but I decided not to.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's a grand idea until that bad boy gets heavy.
Do you have the internet on your phone?

No...it's just a phone and i like it that way. My sister got her one of those fancy newer ones with the interweb and everything. I have a Razor, but it's just my phone

I've got it but I can't post on message boards, it even has a keyboard.
What's the point? :csad: :cmad:

I bought a new camera for Christmas this year...so that is going with me...so I will have some nice HQ pics to share hopefully. its a Canon Powershot..i loves it

doesnt matter how much you beg, people will still smell. its comic con tradition.

as for panels, i be looking forward to iron man and 24 myself.

Does anyone know how to get into preview night?

I'm supposed to pick up my four day pass on Thursday. Can I get in without it?

I am only going to be there for Thursday and Friday. And Saturday is sold out.....:cwink:

well preview night is wednesday night so if your only there on thur and fri then i dont see how youll go, but if you reserved a four day pass then you wait in line wednesday when registration opens, get your pass and go in. its the same process you would do any day expect wednesday night.

I don't think you can get into preview without being a pro/exhibitor/vendor/vip

I got my pro badge so my guest and I are going, but other than that, I think you can't go

4-day pass owners can get into preview night, I've been to it before.

yes if you pre-registered for the 4-day (now the 3-day) with no Saturday, if you are there Wednesday you can attend preview night. I registered back in May, and I fly in Wednesday morning so I will be at preview night....just look for a tall guy in a beat up NY Mets hat.

It's a tradition that needs to change...I'm going to check out the Independent films, the Eureka panel...there is also a good panel that has to do with adpating comics to film and the changes/compromises made

Am I wrong for this?....I've been planning this trip for the better part of 6 months. I bought my plane ticket back in May, booked the hotel back in April...now i'm seeing all of these people on boards and stuff looking for rooms, floorspace, or a couch to crash on. I'm in a decent hotel with a pool and a room all to myself, am I wrong for not wanting to share my space because I planned ahead and others didn't? will karma get me for this?
I got my hotel room late (last month - it was difficult and on the expensive side), but I'm sharing with friends who registered much later because they're going to pay me. I'm poor enough - sharing a hotel room in exchange for moolah is totally fine by me! :woot: But it's your room, do whatever you want.

It looks like I'll be driving down by myself on Wed night for the preview, and I plan to stay all 4 days. I have two friends driving down on Thursday afternoon, so I dunno if they'll make it for Thursday programming, but...yeah. My coworker and his gf are coming down for Friday too. Wheeee!

People have said that if you want to park on Friday and Saturday, get a space EARLY. Like, 7:30-8am early and then eat breakfast within walking distance, because parking lots fill up fast. It is a frakkin' ZOO on Friday and Saturday. I'm seriously opting for the bus myself - my hotel is only 5 miles away, and it would only take 1 bus line with a 0.5 mile walk at the end. In fact, the distance from the closest bus stop on my line to the convention center is actually smaller than many of the lots in the area anyway. :oldrazz:

My hotel is just out of downtown close to the train station so i can either walk or take the trolley. I'm going by myself simply because I hate to be on someone else's schedule, i like to roam and do stuff at random times and people tend to complain so I am going solo this year. Last time I went was with like 4 people and it was a mess.

Oh, I totally plan to ditch my friends once we get to the convention center. :oldrazz: My 2 friends are more into anime, my coworker is into DC and Marvel stuff, his gf wants to network with writers, and I'm more into alternative stuff. We're probably just going to meet up after closing hours each day for food and sleepage.

sounds like a plan.....i think the "networking" chances are a bit slim though. Every wannabe and their mother are going to be trying to get some face time with dc or marvel...good luck to her tho
