Probst winning best host = well deserved over the other three disgraces. Heidi is hilarious, the other three (Seacrest, Bergeron, Mandel) are annoying as all hell.

while I understand the idea of the hosting idea...they need to figure this out...just bring Conan back...Conzey makes it ll better! Seacrest last year was embarrassing...anyway...if it was pre-recorded...why did the rush the sh#% out of it? Showbiz...blah.
I think Steve Carrell and Rainn shoulda won their respective awards...but I'm happy with Baldwin...just not with Jeremy Piven...the guy turned out to be a *****e since becoming so popular...

NBC should have exclusive Emmy broadcast rights.

I believe NBC will be the network in 2010 (CBS next year, Craig Ferguson should host) and then the contract the networks have with the Emmys ends and there is talk it could move to cable or the format would change. The networks don't like it when the majority of nominees and winners are from cable shows. So the mini-series/tv movie categories could get moved to the the creative Emmys, eliminating 1/3 of the awards from the Sunday show. This would allow more time to "celebrate television", not have things cut due to running late and perhaps not be as long. Or it may move to TNT or FX where 9 million people watching would great and they would do a much better job than ABC and Fox.

The article makes a great point, the only way the Oscars get big ratings this year is if TDK is nominated for a bunch of awards. And Gervais' humour, which I love, is not for everybody.

The only thing I saw was the Gervais-Carrell thing. Carrell kept a straight face the whole show and you had Colbert and Stewart laughing really hard.

Gervais would be a good Oscars host, although his humor is a bit too blue for the Oscars.

I want to see The Oscars televised on NBC, just so that Conan can host.
