Strange New Worlds 3x08 "Four and a Half Vulcans"

I enjoyed this one. It was usual fun Spock hijinks episode. Nice to see how prominent La'an has been. I've also noticed that Chapel has seemingly taken a back seat since she is no longer lusting after Spock, which is not a good look for the show at all.

Vulcan hijinks are the best hijinks.

Also PSA, there was post credit content. And apparently some of the best won't be seen because of "paying for a music license". blah

I really loved this episode. Spock reliving his hell of a childhood. It was fun to see them take up different aspect of being a Vulcan. All of them being a bit of jerks.

I did not foresee La'an going full Romulan, though. When she said how space was open to conquest, I was like "oh no...". And at the end, she was talking about getting her enemies to fight each other, and yup, full on scheming Romulan. I did find the comment on her augment ancestors being a factor interesting. If the Romulans were partly because of genetic tinkering, that would explain the Remans, who very much seem like an offshoot of Romulans/Vulcans in Nemesis.

Pike's "I did not make good decisions" was great.

I like Wesley's Kirk, but I am hoping that is the last we see him this season.

Yeah, La'an gradually going full Romulan was hilarious. I was kinda expecting someone would comment on it with the proper term, but didn't happen. Doesn't matter, it was highly entertaining and the perfect character for that "mishappening". Loved that they made Pike's hair even more ridiculous in Vulcan mode. A fun episode over all.

The conversation she had with Pike was great. I kind of forgot that Pike would now about Romulans from the S1 finale.
