What and why? Nintendo Wii, £179.99. The Nintendo Wii (pronounced "we") is not like other games consoles. It doesn't do shoot 'em up games. It does do interactivity. With a gadget that looks like a TV remote control, it uses wi-fi technology to read any action you perform and translate it on to the screen. So you can play tennis, golf, or baseball, you can bowl or box or play something called Zelda Hands-on, which is a sword fighting game.


How many sold? In nine days, 7,000 units have been pre-sold, even though they won't actually be delivered until December. That makes it the biggest and quickest launch ever on the site.

This is what Play.com in the UK is saying. 7,000. I wonder how many are being ordered by people to sell on E-bay.

No shoot-em up's? What's Red Steel then .

Wow....just wow. The lack of ignorance of the reporting is appalling. I could see them missing Red Steel AND Far Cry Vengence....and Metroid Prime 3 for next year....and Call of Duty 3, when saying no shoot 'em ups....yeah

but to report on a Nintendo console and call a game "Zelda: Hands On" and define it as some kind of sword fighting game. It is an insult to the genre and to video games in general. Do some ****ing research for crying out loud then! I don't write an article on Francis Ford Coppola and say "he did some romance movie in the '80s and hasn't done much since, nothing of real artistry though he did do some action movie called Goodfather in the '70s or something."

Really, now.
