90210 spinoff on The CW...

The CW won't be showing the pilot episode to critics...

The CW and our studio partner CBS Paramount Network Television have made the strategic marketing decision not to screen "90210" for any media in advance of its premiere. We're not hiding anything . . . simply keeping a lid on 90210 until 9.02, riding the curiosity and anticipation into premiere night, and letting all our constituents see it at the same time."

So either they're hoping for more people to watch it this way or it sucks. To me to get viewers its best to have the "best new drama/comedy/show" of the fall label. It shouldn't be watch and find out if it sucks! Now the pilot may suck and the season may improve (like 30 Rock did) or get worse.

^Wow....RIBS

I'll definitely check out the premiere...I was too young to be interested in watching the original 90210 when it was on.

Wow. They are all looking rough and hagrid there too. :o

From the previews I already hate the lead girl, she screams of being another Mischa Barton/Marissa Cooper and I hated that ***** with a fiery passion past the first season of The O.C.

Eww, gross. They could all use a visit to the Peach Pit for some burgers.

Yeah, okay that wasnt a great pic, but it was the only one I could find with the three of them. I'll keep looking.

Well here is one of the group pics where you can see all of them looking probably their best

And has anyone read the new EW and US Weekly with Shannen and Jennie?

It looks like we probably wont be seeing Brenda and Donna reuniteing anytime soon. Tori is probably to scared to come face to face with Shannen at this point.

I was initially drawn to the first 90210 because they were (allegedely) my age, graduated same year, etc. I only lasted a few seasons because the show got kind of lame, but for its time it was a pretty different kind of show and sort of spawned a TV genre. But since then the concept has been done to death. This new one so far just feels like any other high school type show. Maybe its because Aaron Spelling isn't around any longer?

It's following the typical high school, angsty formula that we've been getting bombarded with the past 15 years in TV and movies:
1. New kids in town
2. *****y alpha female character
3. cool teacher character who helps them out
4. new kids try hard to fit in
5. get in trouble doing so
6. make friends with the "outcast" character
7. popular guy redeems himself by helping them out

yawn.......

The show's fine...two things that would make it better...

1: Slowly bring back all of the original cast that fans care for.
2: Slowly fade out all of the new cast that fans could care less for.

then it'd be a '90210' I'd want to watch

On 2nd thought, I'll stick with reruns should they ever pop up...

Are most of these actors/actresses even older than the original cast when the first 90210 began?

^Maybe not, but a lot of them look it, IMO...

Seriously, these kids are supposed to be High School? College maybe, but not High School.

I was a huge fan of the original show from 1990-94/95(well,the Shannen Doherty years)and I did catch some of this and it didn't really impress me. The original series was special because it was the first time where "teens" were the stars of a major show and it really dealt with teenage issues. But since the show went off the air(in 2001 I think?)we've had dozens of these kinds of shows. I tuned in mainly to see Shannen and Jenny Garth(for nostalgia reasons),but I wasn't impressed with anyone else.
This show is trying to gain success by playing off the name, "90210." And I don't think most people who watched the premiere tonight were even around to watch the original series. I can see this show lasting a season, but after that, who knows?

I enjoyed this. . . Shhhhh

Silver's a hottie.

Anywho, I didnt hate the pilot. I dont know if I'll put an effort in to watch each week, but if nothings on, what the hell? It's a helluva lot better than Gossip Girl.

Also, I liked the music.

Also, Lucille Bluth was pretty damn funny.

Oh, how I yearn for an Arrested Development movie...

It was very interesting seeing Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty doing scenes together, seeing as though they did not get along that well during the original show. Both looked pretty good.

I wasn't really a big fan of the original but I would catch it from time to time. This new show doesn't even feel like "90210" it feels like something else thats just using that title. I don't know, its like its a little too flashy where as the original was kind of "gritty" it you will.I can only see this turd lasting one season.

I for one loved it. It didn't come across as your standard teenage drama that's for sure. It had snarky smart writing that I loved. There was only one moment where the writing made me cringe, and that was the scene where Ethan broke up with Naomi.

''I'm not breaking up with you, I'm breaking up with us."
