A 258 million Production Budget? Where At?

I rarly post here, but I read that Sony spent arpond 258 million on this SM3. Where was all this money spent at? The Fx was hits and misses, and the actors aren't commanding a massive salary. I don't see it.

Even though I don't agree that the FX were all hit and misses, remember, just because a movie has a huge budget doesn't mean it will have good special effects. Look at The Sound of Thunder for example.

Sound of Thunder was never finished effects wise. That's why it looks like that. It was interesting to see a movie in its very rough animatic mixed with live action phase, though thats obviously not what they were going for.

Most of the money- I'm willing to bet- went to the 'birth' of Sandman scene.

If a hefty amount of the budget went off into making the giant Sandman, I would honestly laugh. I would think it would be cheaper to drop a vat of dirt on this guy and call it a day.

Granted, I'm being silly...but I was not impressed by what was actually in the film in comparison to the clip we saw in the NBC preview. The clip insinuated a majesty the final cut lacked.
