The Dark Knight A Fan Analysis Of Every Component Of TDK.

Hey all. We all know TDK is one of the best comic book films ever made. It is also a great film on it's own merits. Though I do not consider it a masterpiece (nor deserving of even the top 50 - 100 GREATEST films of all time), it is without doubt a quality crime caper movie that should be applauded for what it did with a character over 70 years old.

Anyway, here is a link to some analysis videos on youtube made by fans. They discuss every element of TDK from a fan's perspective. The vids are broken up into specific sections so folks can jump to whatever part of TDK interests them for discussion. The full analysis is almost three hours long, so if you want to jump to say Batman or The Joker section, you can.

You know, the very title of this thread pretty much sums up why I feel less and less compelled to going to places like this: the fanboys skill to suck joy from movies that deliver so much greatness by incessant *********ory overanalysis that endlessly squints the eyes for things to b*** about, like being happy about anything is unacceptable.

if now we all would stop talking about this movei then TDK would still be 100% amazing in 10 years. but if you into every major detail and talk about it for months or years it could happen that the movie isnt special anymore.

i mean its a mistake to watch the movie 10 times in 1 week.
i like to watch the movie in the theater. then i wait for the dvd. this is like 3 or 4 months. by that time i already forgot a lot of things. so the movie is great again. and then when i watch it i maybe go through some badass clips and thats it. at least for some months or maybe even 6 months.

i understand that the mvoei is really special to some guys here. but to watch it 10 times? thats radical.

Freedom is a wonderful thing. Practice it. You don't like this style of fandom and wanton over analysis, do not watch the videos or take part in the thread. Actually it is an example of that freedom that you can come onto the thread and say how much you think that kind of fandom sucks. The irony of your statement is rather clear.

There is no rule in HOW to appreciate TDK. All that matters is that as fans we express our enjoyment of it the way we want to.

A lot of the guys who have posted on this thread are racist morons who can't see past their colour to realise they dropped more sense on the ins and outs of not only TDK but Batman and comic films in general than ANY professional analyst or critic has done since the movie came out. Their site has about 200 members and has been going for over a year with dedicated members of ages up to 40! Their youtube page is regularly rated in the top 100 in the UK and I doubt morons would be able to do that. Hell they even have a radio station that became featured within a month of activation because it was rated so highly.

Who the F on this board has done anything like that for fandom and comics to then come out and call them half wits? What is telling is that NONE of these buffoons actually highlighted WHY what they said was dumb. What is it that they said that was stupid???? What??? Oh maybe you are just too damn dim to understand an in depth debate when you hear it or maybe too xenophobic to accept that two blackies have more sense and acumen on fandom and debate than you do.
