For those of you who don't know, I work in retail, and the other day our Apple Rep stopped in and told us a little bit about what new was coming from Apple this year. This is the info he had;

  1. iPhone 5 in September.
    • Will feature a larger screen.
    • Only one exterior button; the power button. Everything else will be on the touch screen.
    • Apple is being tight lipped on everything else the phone will feature.
  2. iPad 3 in May.
    • Wll feature increased processing power.
    • A lot of the kinks present in the iPad 2 will be worked out.
    • Beyond that, it doesn't seem like a significant update.
  3. But most interestingly, he mentioned that Apple is partnering with Sony to create a TV with iOS software. Which will feature:
    • No remote whatsoever.
    • Kinect-style motion controls that will allow you to change the channel, raise the volume, etc. just by moving your hand.
    • Fully integrated with Siri so you can issue any other commands verbally.

Has anyone else heard or seen any articles about this new AppleTV? I googled it and only really saw info on Apple's current AppleTV box. It really seems like it could be pretty awesome, especially if it's loaded with the same kind of apps that have made the iPad and iPhone so successful.

Apple is the devil and Steve Jobs is the antichrist. Anyway... this should go in the technology boards.

I might buy that TV. If they can price it reasonably, and sell it in non-Apple stores.

does the Iphone 5 release along side the new ipod touch 5

google is also workin on a tv software. i guess they will also work with someone like sony or panasonic.the problem with the apple tv is as always. way to expensive .

right now we also have a lot smarttv's. tv with internet. and we can watch a lot.

Is an iPad really worth the investment ? Is that an every year new version ? At least with the phones your stuck with it until the contract runs out

What if I don't want any of it. What if I just want to watch TV and not have this corporate meaning behind it?

I wouldn't mind upgrading to an Iphone 5 since my contract is almost up early this year.

None of them have the motion sensor ability item. Yet, at least.

Having a Kinect, I can say that using your hands to navigate menus is a huge hassle. The voice recognition, however, is great. Being able to say "Xbox, Quickplay, Netflix" while I'm up doing something else is fantastic.
