I just finished watching the first season and I wanted to post my thoughts.

The first half of the season was enjoyable, but nothing to get all that enthusiastic about. However, starting with "Kinetic", there was a huge leap forward in the quality of the stories and the season finale was incredible. "Nicodemus" was sort of a ripoff of Star Trek's "The Naked Time", but hey, if you're gonna do a ripoff why not take from the best?

By far, the most interesting character is Lex Luthor and the ongoing battle between him and his father is nothing short of electrifying anytime we see it.

The goodbye scene between Lana and Whitney was heartbreaking.

The single most jaw-dropping moment of the entire season was at the very end of "Zero" (which is, overall, my favorite episode so far) when Chloe decided to save the info about Clark's adoption rather than delete it. I can't wait to see what they do with that one...

As a whole, I must say that this season is an awesome start to what I hope will be an amazing series and I think it's safe to say that I am now hopelessly addicted.

You, sir, are indeed the definition of a newbie. ;)

I'm sure it's a great review, if I could remember some of the episodes in Season 1.

hey 2001...good to see you again.

Yikes, how did you miss the first season? :ninja:

Yeah I loved the WAR between lex and lionel in season one. I think it reached its peak in season 3.

Now it's kindof just a stale mate though lex, I think still has the upper hand. He really should kill Lionel to end the oedipus thing once and for all.

Season 1 was by far the best for me. Yes the FOTWs got repetitive but the simplistic tone of the show was awesome. They always managed to show a warm family atmosphere with the Kents and really emphazied the contrast between them and the Luthors. Sadly of course that's been lost with
the death of Pa Kent
, especially since Lionel eating Thanksgiving dinner w/ the Kents:whatever:

The sky use to be the limit for the show. I think the innocents of the young characters is completely gone. Don't get me wrong I still love the show but it's lost that luster it once had for me.:csad: :dew:

i only saw the pilot- that says a lot about about the first season

What does that say about the first season? All it proves is that you didn't have a lot of free time when it originally aired. :oldrazz:

no it proves i was so underwelmed it didn't become must see TV. and the UK tv channel messing around with the schedule didn't help.

and for future reference- i have no life so theres all the time in the world:woot:
