I'm planning on creating a personalized coffee mug for someone for their birthday and was wondering if anyone has ever done something similar like this and has any good sites that did a great job on their cup. I was hoping for a site where you can upload your own personal artwork/photos to include on the mug itself. I have one site lined up but I'd like to hear if anyone may have done something like this before already. Help is always appreciated. :yay:

Is this someone you know who lives close to you or over teh internets. Because if you are planning on giving this present in person... why not just go to the mall or someplace where you can just bring them whatever pictures you need to? Save you shipping and the headache of having to explain exactly what you want in an email.

Well I'm unfamiliar with any stores nearby me who do this so if you know of one please let me know. Would you be able to bring some kind of flash drive to the store for them to use, 'cause these aren't like magazine clippings or anything. I'm creating a collage of images for the mug. I'm just wondering if anyone has done something similar and can point me in the right direction. I'd really like for it to come out good.

Most of those places who actually do that stuff use a computer to do it so I would assume a flash drive would be acceptable. I have no idea where any stores are where you live so go dig up a phone book or use the wonderful internet yellow pages for a custom t-shirt place... they usually go hand in hand.

I thought Deviant Art did stuff like this, no?

There's lots of places online that does stuff like this... but I was just explaining to JaD that it might be easier/faster to just go to the local mall or someplace similar and get it done there instead of having the process done online.

Probably true though I haven't seen any ads for anything like this near me.

Am I the only person in the entire world that has been to a shopping center/mall where there were t-shirt places/photo studios that gave people the option to put an image onto a coffee cup/t-shirt/keychain/anything-you-can-think-of?

It's been a long time since I've seen one of those. Most of them must not do so well in my area. Tho with Christmas coming they might be easier to find....

I'm sorry your Google is broken, JaD. :o

My google's in the shop right now, won't have it back until next week. I'd rather hear from my hypesters if they've done anything similar and a good place to go :cwink:

*does so*

Zazzle, i made some shirts there and they came out great. Never made mugs but i imagine they'd do a good job on that too.

Alot of photo developing places do this sort of thing now, your face on t-shirts,mouse mats, cup's on all sorts of things, very popular with the hen/stag night crowd.

Aghh, I finished the image and designed the mug and ordered it this morning off Zazzle but it was declined because of copyright infringement. *Vader nooo* :cmad:

Go to KodakGallery.com

Create an account. Then create an album. Load that image onto the album. Then you can order a mug with that picture on it.

I hope they have some nice options for customizing but I'll head over there, thanks. :yay:

Not sure of the options but I know you can put photos on mugs, mousepads, and some other stuff.

Cool, I'm actually customizing it right now, I may end up using this place. I don't get why I had to have the copyright problem on the other site, that's.....kinda lame.

Thanks again (have you used this site before? If you did, how'd it come out?)

I've not used the site personally. My dad and sister used it when it was Ofoto to get prints of pics from digital cameras which came out well. I don't know how it will come out. I would think it'd be good since it's a pretty big photo company.

Ha, yeah that's good enough for me too :funny:

Wow, it's been a couple months already :hehe: But anyways I went with KodakGallery.com and I highly recommend their site. They did one heck of a job and it came looking three times better than I imagined it would. So thanks to Spidey-Bat  for providing the place, I hope some of you know where to go when Mother's Day comes around.... :P Here are some pics I took of the mug around Christmastime. (No namedropping 'Tusis!) :spidey:

Glad to hear it came out well. I think I'm going to order one for my mom's birthday.
