TLC Biopic
VH1 is set to release a scripted biopic of one of the best-selling female groups of all time, TLC.
"The reality of this brings me to tears because I am seeing one of my dreams come to life. I always felt our story had to be told," said Chilli, who is executive producing with T-Boz.
The iconic girl group achieved major success with their 1991 debut album Ooooooohhh On The TLC Tip, which sold over 6 million copies. Their fame escalated with the release of their sophomore effort, 1994's CrazySexyCool, which sold 22 million albums worldwide, making them the most successful female group in history at the time.
However they also hit some lows as the group went through a public bankruptcy suit at the height of their career. T-Boz battled with sickle-cell disease, and Lisa "Lefteye" Lopes died tragically in a 2002 car crash. The film will cover all these major highs and lows.
The TLC story is one of many scripted biopics that Vh1 plans to release, based on the lives of musicians and popular culture icons.
Who you think should be casted for the film? IMO, these 3 actresses are the perfect to play TLC:
Eve as Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins
Raven-Symone as Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes
Keisha Knight-Pulliam as Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas
