Horror A24’s ‘Bring Her Back’ | From the directors of Talk to Me

I very much enjoyed this. Saw an evening screening with a decent crowd, and it's a slow horror burn that, once a switch flips, doesn't let up. Sally Hawkins is great, and this is a far cry from the mild-mannered woman that we saw in The Shape of Water, but the kid actors are no slouches, either! It's a dark examination of grief and both how we deal with it, and the lengths we'll go to patch up those wounds.

Again, the buildup is slow and intentional, but once this starts leaning more into the horror aspect, it does not stop and you're just waiting for the next disturbing thing to happen, without getting into spoilers. I don't know whether I prefer this to Talk to Me because they're very different horror films, but I had a very good time watching this. Also, I know you hear 'Not for the squeamish' a lot, but there's some imagery that makes that statement completely true when it comes to this movie!
