I believe the whole scene was a combination of moments in that feud from different matches and promos.

The “real men stay up” promo is one of Flair’s greatest. I love it as much as the “golden spoon” promo.

Yeah, he wasn't a 1:1 playing Ric Flair but I still think it worked in the context of that scene that did a good job raising stakes. And also I don't know who you could get to play Ric Flair other than Ric Flair... or Jay Lethal.

The one misstep of Iron Claw was the casting of Flair. That guy was horrendous.

What made it stand out even more was the timing of when he showed up because the movie was pretty deep in despair by that point that even a perfect imitation of Flair still would have felt like a birthday clown showing up at a funeral.

Granted, I hate to play the “you should be casting this role for looks alone” game and I appreciate that this movie has likely opened many doors for him getting better, more dramatic material, but… it’s insane to look at Efron in this and think that they’ve cast anyone else as He-Man right now.
