Finally saw this yesterday. Forget about Thunderbolts. This is the best Marvel since Endgame. Which, by the way, the overuses of Marvel films and characters as just 'a Marvel' always made me laugh. I imagine that's how a lot of moviegoers who don't spend their time nitpicking on message boards see superhero movies. So when someone says 'I look like a Marvel' or 'We gotta rent the new Marvel,' that has to be based in reality. Though in a way, this is a Marvel movie in that Tim Robinson is in a relationship with Sue Storm, and he's neighbors with Scott Lang.
As for the film itself? Very much enjoyed it. Have you ever had a friend who is so awkward, doesn't get social cues, and who you often look at and hope they don't say or do something stupid? That's this film. Tim Robinson's form of comedy is so uncomfortable, but he so wants to be loved and accepted by a guy like Paul Rudd. Even when he goes too far a number of times.
I understand what some say when they call the film a series of sketches instead of a film, and now that I've seen The Cable Guy, I can definitely see the comparison with this movie's tonal shifts, but it does provide some good laughs just from how absurd it gets. This got quite a number of a big laughs from me.
