This poster recently circulated on various websites and I'm not happy about it. The teaser was posted on my portfolio ([link]) about a week and a half ago and unfortunately someone has taken it of off there and has sent it to several websites. If someone is claiming it to be their own, please let me know.

A little bit of information about the design:

  • 1. I have used Cap’s iconic shield as to me, it would be a perfect teaser and I have a feeling we will see something similar for the official poster.
  • 2. The shield was made entirely from scratch by using the tools in Photoshop and I tried to make it look realistic by using the lighting effects feature in Photoshop. The sparks were actually used to give the effect of ricocheting bullets.
  • 3. The bricks were done intentionally as a reference to the dark and cold period of World War 2.
  • 4. The titles, tagline and billing block were also made by me.

While I do not have a problem with people posting the image to promote the film around the web, I do have a problem with people (ab)using the poster (whether in parts or in whole) and claiming it to be their own or to profit from it so I urge everyone who have used my poster in their own fanmade posters to remove everything that was taken from mine (that includes the tile and billing block!). I made this poster purely as a portfolio piece and I have no intention of using it commercially.

Thanks for the support!

That sucks man, but i did read a few sites have come out and stated it wasnt a real photo. So hopefully that will help you out.

thats very well done.

Being an artist myself, i understand where you're coming from. But people obviously dug it, and many sites listed it as the real deal. Use that to your advantage while trying to make a name for yourself.

Those credits are a mix of CA's and Thor's.

Patrick Doyle as composer for example.

I'm sorry to hear about this man. It is a great piece though so I could see how someone might be fooled.

I don't get why people never fact check things anymore. It seems as if more and more, artists on here keep getting their work posted as "official" both on the web and other media outlets. I remember right before TDK came out that a manip, which someone had done of the Joker, was put up on The Today Show when they were talking about Heath Ledger playing the character. The pic was photoshoped from one of Conrad Veidt in The Man Who Laughs. Maybe it's just interns who don't understand how to use Google. Idiots!
