I just have been informed I have been put on Academic Probation by WMU.

It really sucks. But I told my mom about it being a possibility, and they are prepared for it.

They are giving me this next semester to step it up. And damnit, I'm going to. I have to, actually, or else bye-bye, Western.

This really is depressing, but self-inflicted.

:csad:

Too much time on the Hype?

Apply to some other schools, just in case.:o

Happened to me once, when I wasn't studying alot. Something about the threat of flunking out really lights a fire under your ass.

Sorry to hear about that 'Fran, but I am sure you can hang in there.

Not to be preachy brother, but I never got into University for a variety of reasons and it is the one thing I regret most in my life.

You have an opportunity that a lot of others don't have.

Make it count. As a friend of mine used to say:

"Responsibility is a heavy responsibility."

You can do it manno. Push hard and get it done.

You need me to come over and help you study?

I've been on academic probation, after pretty much having the semester from hell, both personally and academically. But I bounced back with a 3.4 (which is damn good for me) the next semester and never looked back. Just do what you have to do, you'll be fine.

Happend to me once also, they took away my financial aid until i got my grades back up for a semester.

Yeah, it already has made a significant impact on me.

It would be nice :)

yes you should go, farmerfran needs all the help he can get :D

This isn't a sympathy thread. I'm just expressing how bad it sucks. Leave.

Yeah, I'm sure I'll be alright.

Thanks Norman

My avatar is supreme, and thanks babe.

Yes, and I replied back.

Hey, whatever. I was put on academic probation -- twice -- and still graduated. Who knew? Don't sweat it too much.

i'm gonna go with too much time on the hype...you just have to concentrate. i know a few people with two jobs and go to school full time and still maintain a high gpa without probation. if they can do it then there is no excuse. not my case though. i somehow manage to keep my 3.8 gpa and still be a stoner slacker...maybe start smoking a lot of pot and play ps2?? cuz thats all i do :woot:

Go crack open a book :cmad:

No really, keep up your studies. After college, you can do whatever the f you want. Just focus on studying now

that just happened to me this year 06-07. now i need to pass both my classes:( not for bad grades but because i was dropping classes.

Not really. I just didn't put forth the effort to study enough. I missed a lot of class too.

Sounds like my first year and a half. When I saw Academic Probation with my grades it woke my ass up and turned me into a damn fine student.

Don't let this get you down, use this to light a fire under your ass.

If I can think of something else cliche to write, I will.

i was on AP last semester...and it definitly made me kick it up a notch. Like someone else said i had the semester from hell, but did really well this past semester. Actually just got all my final grades today and am now in good standing.
