I predict the airport scene in civil war will crush this so I will make it multiple choice.

And rightly so really because that scene was incredible

The final battle in Rogue One. A very good ground battle, an amazing space battle, an intriguing infiltration mission and potentially the greatest minute in the history cinema. Yeah, the final battle in Rogue One.

If it wasn't for the airport scene, I'd give it to Vader. But, y'know, it's the airport scene.

Reverse time from Doctor Strange was a pleasant surprise and one of my favorite responses the irresponsibility of of modern blockbusters.

I'll also throw one out for Hell or High Water's finale.

I was thinking of Hell or High Water too.

I heard a lot of praise for the final shootout in The Magnificent Seven, but after watching it I'm honestly not sure what all the fuss was about. If anything the gunfight earlier in the film when the The Seven first arrive was more entertaining, but neither of the two held anything particularly notable in my opinion.

So far I lean toward The Airport Scene, but this is a serious topic which requires serious and prolonged thought!

Vader takes the grand prize for me.

No one effs with Earth Vader.

Earth Vader is the Vader with the red lenses. :o

Earth Vader has a lot of conflicting ideas with the Empire's treatment of planets.

Rogue One has the action of the year for sure. I'd add the finale to Magnificent Seven and Batman in the warehouse to the ones not listed.

My top 3 are:
1. The Rebel fight in Rogue One which was epic (literally from the ground to in space above the planet)
2. Darth Vader in Rogue One which was just plain badass
3. Deadpool's highway fight which was inventive AND hilarious at the same time

As cool as Civil War's airport fight tried to be, it just didn't succeed for me.

Vader! Airport scene was fun but not nothing special since as usual there were no stakes

The whole final battle in Rogue One. Followed by the airport scene in Civil War.

Yeah, it's fun, but ultimately it was pointless, the Cap/Bucky vs Iron Man fight was way better.

While I am a big fan of the Airport scene, yeah the final battle of the film is on a whole other level imo. The emotional toll is felt.

Not just that, but the way it was done wasn't very impressive—the setting was uninspired (a very bare-looking airport which didn't allow for nice aesthetics), lame lines like Hawkeye's "We haven't met yet" to Black Panther and Spider-Man's "you have the right to remain silent!", and action shots that weren't either particularly cool-looking or inventive. And Ant-Man becoming Giant-Man could've been a lot cooler than it was, with him doing something else rather than just stomping on trucks and swatting at everyone.

Winter Soldier had better-staged action IMO, the highlight being its highway-to-street fight.

And yeah, I did prefer the actual ending fight in Civil War between IM and Cap/Bucky, as it felt more personal between the characters and we (as the audience) really understood why each side wanted to stop the other.

Those lines were not lame. :woot:

Having the combatants genuinely trying to hurt each other went a long way, it didn't feel like a slap fight.

I also agree that the brutal, personal fight between Rogers and Stark was better than the airport fight. The airport fight was WWE. Entertaining as hell but basically fake. That final fight was just unbelievable. The brutality and raw emotion must have pushed that pg13 boundary.

I also loved the Deadpool freeway fight. Fantastic concept and it was executed perfectly. And the way it ends with Deadpool hilariously trying to fight Colossus was funniest moment of the year for me.

1. Deadpool highway scenes
2. Last 40 minutes of Rouge One
3. The Accountant final shoot-out

Had to go with the Enterprise crashing in Star Trek Beyond.

I loved the Darth Vader scene and as a star wars fan it was a glorious treat, but looking at it as objectively as possible all it really is is twenty seconds of Vader killing red shirts. I can't rank that higher than the Enterprise destruction scene.
