While I don't necessarily disagree with your point, I'm not sure your example fits. Ant-Man, Cap, Spidey, etc were all in the airport battle from start to finish -Vader literally just shows up for that one part right at the end. It's also contained to that one small hallway -again, not entirely disagreeing with you- but I can certainly see why people are thinking of Vader's hallways strut as a different action scene than the core battle.
What still confuses me is why anyone thinks Vader killing a few dudes in a hallway (ignoring the rest of the battle) stands out enough from every other action sequence in 2016 to be considered the best. It's hard to think the reasoning is anything more involved than it's Vader on the big screen doing stuff, when there's nothing most Star Wars fans haven't seen before. It was cool, but the best of the entire year? It's why I asked in a previous post about people's criteria for great action.
Now, saying the entire battle was the best of the year is a different kettle of fish. While I personally didn't think it was anything special, at least I can see why others would consider it a contender.
