It's very rare when an actor/actress decides they want to try their hand at becoming a singer and actually becomes successful, so what are you think are some examples of when actors/actresses become singers and are actually good?

...nobody. LMAO Seriously, i can't think of any.

Emmy Rossum and Kevin Spacey both have terrific voices.

Zooey Deschanel. I'm not sure if she's successful, but she certainly has a great voice.

I love her in naughty ways.

Kris Kristofferson

or was he the other way around

Hopefully Mr. Joaquin Phoenix won't go down this path, especially with a rap-career(Oh! I'm sorry, I meant: "Hip-Hop"):o

Jamie Foxx has impressed me with his singing. He's just released a new album.

Juliette Lewis has been performing with her band for years.

I always thought Ewan McGregor could put out an album and be a success. He has a pretty stunning voice.

Bruce Willis played harmonica in a band before he struck it big, and he has his blues band The Accelerators

And Russell Crowe has his band too.

I love his singing, but I find Jamie Foxx's songs strangely boring. Granted, he's more successful than Eddie Murphy, who failed drastically at "comedian-turned-actor-turned-singer."

Party all the Time is still an awesome song. :)

Well, yeah. I'm just saying that if the same happened to Foxx, we'd be sitting here talking about "Unpredictable."

I agree for the most part, but the format that they're using is what sells on the mass market right now. From a business standpoint, it makes sense. I've seen him perform onstage a couple of times, though, and it was a completely different story. He was improvising constantly...playing off the crowd, and other performers who took turns singing with him.

Hugh Jackman. Anne Hathaway. Bernadette Peters. Matthew Brockerick. Patrick Wilson.

Hmm. Let's just include the entire roster of incredible musical theatre performers who are incredibly talented and pathetically under-rated by the general population. Many of them have albums, but few reach the kind of sales achieved by pretty little dancers and digital voice equipment. It is truly sad.

Mos Def...but does rapper count?

All I can think of is Love Hewitt and Hayden Panettiere..........but me I'm not a fan (at least of their music)

Hugo Weaving. Either really good choice, or really bad. No shades of gray.
