Some people say that they buy Allstar Batman for Jim Lee's art but that didn't convince me to buy it. I would put up with Frank Miller's dialogue for Adam's art.

Adams is indeed collaborating with Frank Miller on a long-anticipated Batman miniseries entitled Batman: Odyssey, and originally slated for six issues but he believes the story will warrant enough material for eight. Adams has created and will be plotting and pencilling the story, with Miller supplying the dialogue. Adams will also be inking the first two issues -- and NYCC attendees can see the entire #1 (beautifully detailed art, all of which you can see as there's no lettering on the booth copy) -- but expressed an interest in having other long-time (and as yet unnamed) inkers work over his pencils for future issues.

I might just check this out, depending on what it's about. I do love Adam's art.

Great, another entry in Miller's Dark Knight Universe :o

How do you feel about his more recent art? It seems sorta subpar to his '70s work to me.

I agree. Much like John Byrne, Adams art has suffered as of late.

i havent seen too much of his work lately. i remember the varient cover he did for GL a while back, which i thought was great. im sure neal adams at his worst is still better than the majority of modern comic artists.

clearly i dont expect the man to be in his prime anymore, but....if you have any links to some of his more recent work, hook me up.

Uh...it did say that the plot of it is Adams' idea, with Miller only doing diologue. So, you either said it just to be a pissy fanboy or you didn't and just assumed. :o

Maybe the odyssey Batmans on is to find they're missing talent.

No it hasn't. I've seen 8 pages of the new Batman book-it's probably some of the best work he's ever done.

Has it been, what, 6 or 7 months since the last issue of All-Star Bats came out???

What all did the new pages have in them? Was it just basic stuff, like Batman in different poses, beating up street criminals?

It was mostly panels of Batman and Robin in the Batcave, the Batmobile and city streets.

Everything else that Frank Miller's involved in with Batman has been put into his Dark Knight Universe, so I assumed that this too would be put in there.

Oh well, as long as it doesn't go completely over the top and have stupid lines like "Are you dense? Are you ******ed? I'm the God damned Batman!" I guess it won't be that bad.

I just think that in the last 10 years or more his work has looked really bad. I hope this book is as good as your hyping, it I really do. Also as much as I like his work I'm not to impressed by the man himself.

This is fantastic news, the only downside is that Adams' art will not be as clean with all the modern computer coloring cluttering up.

If any of you bought the Neal Adams Batman books will surely agree that most of the computer coloring made the artwork too dark.
