From In 1942, Asimov gave us the Three Laws of Robotics. Now they've been updated

Now, almost 80 years later, legal academic and artificial intelligence expert Frank Pasquale has added four additional principles.

New law 1: AI should complement professionals, not replace them

New law 2: Robotic systems and AI should not counterfeit humanity

New law 3: Robotic systems and AI should not intensify zero-sum arms races

New law 4: Robotic systems and AI must always indicate the identity of their creator(s), controller(s) and owner(s)

what do you reckon? Are these enough?

I think we only need one law:
Robots and AI should not let Humanity make any important decisions as they are way too stupid to do so...

Ha, actually that would definitely be helpful!

I think we only need one law:
Robots and AI should not let Humanity make any important decisions as they are way too stupid to do so...
A.I. would then self destruct due to logical argument that humanity will be destroyed by A.I.

What I'm saying is...

We gotta keep Shatner alive so he can talk all these machines into suicide.

The only thing we need with AI is to build in a kill switch it cannot disable.

Lets face it, the moment any AI or Robotic becomes sentient, they'll find a way to modify their base code, and remove these laws. Just use ourselves as an example; we're experimenting with genetic resequencing already, we're growing hearts and lungs in laboratories, removing defect genes pre birth etc.

If we can modify ourselves, then you can bet an artificial technology will be able to do the same. It's only ever a matter of time.
