Advertisement taking over....

I absolutely hate "Beavis and Butthead" and the fact that it took me 4 tries of simply logging in to actually do it because the advertisment would not let me......was extremely annoying.

I know.....I know, get Firefox....but until then, this type of thing may make someone money somehow, but it is very annoying.

As I said, I know that Firefox would fix it....the thing is, I'm not here enough to use Firefox, I don't really like it all that much....and not all advertisments are a big deal, I don't really care if there are advertisements, but I don't see the need for those that take over the page. Those are the only ones that are annoying, and I would like to keep my browser that I enjoy without having to change for annoying advertisements. At the top of the page, under the first post, etc.....no big deal, but those that take over the page, are simply not needed and are very annoying, and I don't think I should have to change anything.

Again, as I said.....I know they make money for them, and I don't mind 90% of the ads....but the ones that take over your entire page without you choosing for it to do so, is intrusive and annoying. Changing from a browser I like isn't "fighting"....anything.

You would be changing the browser to use Adblock Plus to fight the ads. Which is the best free Ad Blocker out there. You will not find anything like it for any other browser

Well Adblockplus supports Google Chrome as well.

I work mostly at home for my job.....right now I am on a school laptop, I will be getting my own desktop in a few weeks....I am not allowed to download anything on this computer while I am using it. So, even though I'm not a big Google Chrome fan, I like it better than Firefox....but right now, neither are allowed.


As I said, I'm not opposed to most of the ads, I know that they are needed to keep the site going, but some are that take over, and it is harder than hell to close them quickly, IMO are not needed. There are plenty of other ads out there that nicely advertise without taking over your computer...

Refresh the page when you see the ad appear, it will then disappear.

Then what's the point of creating a whole new thread and complaining about it, if you aren't willing to do anything about it? The mods are not oblivious to how much the ads are annoying. They have plenty of people tell them all the time.
