Also, I'm sorry but Heavy Rain is not one I would want to play at all...it's essentially one bit QTE, and that is just lame. Bleh. :down

I agree.

What happend to this?

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it'll be of high quality and it looks fantastic graphically...but I don't feel like playing through several hours of a nice looking movie with constant QTE.

Well, to each his own and all that. I loved the death out of IP and I wasn't bothered by the gameplay at all. I think most people just don't give it a chance because it's not what a 'traditional' game is suppose to be. If you don't like it that's cool, though, but those of us in the know, we'll enjoy it

Of course, I jest on the last part:oldrazz:

Tis ok, that is why different opinions are good, and I fault noone for liking such things. I would argue that QTE have become a part of traditional gaming, it's just a part that I loathe. :p

Oh yeah definitely, but what I mean...well I don't know how really to explain it. I think a lot of people have a POV of what a game should be and Heavy Rain is really not part of that trend. I've heard people say it's not a 'real game' or doesn't have 'real gameplay', that kind of stuff.

I said in another thread that it's so strange to me that people are so open to waving arms, jumping up and down and talking to their TV screens to play games, but when something that doesn't easily fit the video game mold that people like to pigeon hold the medium to, it's like some people automatically reject it.

I know there's people who just don't care for that type of gameplay, and I understand and respect that, but it's kind of frustrating to me because I know a certain amount of people are pretty irrational about it. I have a hard time getting that point across, so I hope it makes sense

:)

Heavy Rain is a "choose your own adventure" video game. Sure, the whole thing plays out as a movie and you interact with timed button presses or analog stick movements, but everything you do affects the narrative, which is cool. I think HR'll be a cult hit with people who favor story over virtually everything else in games--a group to which I happily belong.

Perfect sense, and quite a good point of view.

I understand the frustration, being a rather large fan of the Wii, and the uneducated hate that it gets from people who brush it off as a kiddies machine with nothing but mini games and the such, without actually doing any kind of research behind their clames.

So yea, I understand.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Modern Warfare 2, and New Super Mario Bros. Wii are the games I'm really looking forward to this year.

The games i´m really hyped for are:

Gears of War 2: All Fronts Collection
Wolfenstein and Singularity (i´m a big fan of Raven Soft)
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Halo 3: ODST
Borderlands
Assassin´s Creed 2
Bioshock 2
Modern Warfare 2
Brutal Legend
Dragon Age
Splinter Cell: Conviction
Darksiders

If i had a PS3, Uncharted 2 would be there as well

I just found out that Darksiders is only for 2010.....1st of January (first game of the year), but 2010 nontheless :(

Even weirder is that, in a video from E3, a walkthrough one, it is written that Just Cause 2 is slated for 2010 aswell.

Batman: Arkham Asylum and God of War III. Can't wait to get my hands of those!!
