You know something fascinating?
I'm watching episode 16 of Lois & Clark, and it talks about genealogy

one of my cousins has traces one of our sides back to the mayflower but i've not gotten that far on my own yet. i'm in the late 1700s right now

My great great great etc grandpappy on my mom's side came from Germany in 1757. Landed in Philly. He was part of the group of immigrants that became the Pennsylvania Dutch and Amish. He eventually found his way to NC.

Before Germany, mom's family were in Aeschi, Switzerland. Supposedly there is a church document from the 1300s that mentions land given to the church by the family or some such thing but Ive never seen it. Further back it gets incredibly muddy. Lots of hearsay and pretty much myth. Best guess is mom's ancestors were in Switzerland or that area as far back as when the Romans were running through the area.

^ that's pretty cool

i think i'm gonna binge watch a few episodes of The Originals. i haven't seen the show yet but i'm a fan of the characters and concept

The Originals is pretty good, but Ive fallen way behind.

i'm on episode 3. but i really liked them, even on TVD

man, i wish i could find the Thor steelbook at best buy but i can't find it anywhere. do yall still see it in stores?

Thor 2: The Dark World

i know how extremely rare (and expensive) finding the original thor steelbook would be :/

No idea. Sorry, I know the future shop in my area almost always has tons of steelbooks long after they come out bu that's on the other side of town so I rarely go there.

So my laptop overheats earlier and then I decide to game out for several hours on my PS4. That leads me to wanting to beat the game tonigh and miss Arrow (thank goodness for DVR) and then I had to run and get beer since I need that to correct my insomnia of the last 24 hours. Been a fun day/night. I don't know what I would do if I had to work a 9-5 job. Plus I find out I may be moving back to Hawaii, all expenses paid mind you, to live in multi-million dollar house in HI and I would also have access to Magnum PI's club there where apparently I can just walk in, drink booze and eat all I want, and then leave after signing my name to my "tab". I quote it since I find it weird that I will never, apparently, have to pay this tab.

And my friend thinks I would have some kind of problem with this living arrangement haha

Are you going to work for the mob or something?

man i wish i could shop at futureshop. there's so many steelbooks i'd like to buy from there

Nope my friends mom is old and loaded and needs help so off we go. Don't get it twisted any house on Oahu is a million dollar house. Even a single story 3 bedroom house is big money there. The club I dont have to pay at is new to me but I'm down. Also I lived there for a few years in the Navy and have DJ connects out there so I can still make good money on the side as well. It's a win-win-win all around if I get out there, well except for the 6-5 hour time difference from all my FL . Pissed a lot of people off with drunk calls when I first moved there back in the day

Well sounds like a good deal. You should be good there.

Actually I'm not fond of the islands. I already lived there for 2 1/2 years when I was in the Navy stationed at Pearl Harbor. But something tells me if I'm living like that without the military coming down on me I may just enjoy it a little more

The leg injury isn't some kind of good excuse? You are physically unable to go to class, why would they just fail you?

Leg injury takes out ones right for taking a replacement test?
That logic doesn't make sense

They have a zero tolerance policy at the school. In order to take a make up exam, you must have had missed the initial exam. I didn't and studied the material, but later found out that one of the classes I missed contained extra lecture notes I was unable to get. I told the instructor, but he used the good ole you should have gotten them from someone else, you should read your text book, or you shouldn't miss class. Also in one of the other classes I missed a group discussion that needed to be done because of "critical thinking" was recently included in our curriculum. So all-in-all I had a very crappy semester and have another one to look forward to.

Your teachers sound very jaded and out of touch with what's important in education. Ya know, the education part...not the part where they **** you over because of a medical injury.

If you didn't chew their asses out then you have a lot more control then I do.

Moments like this scare from attempting to enter college again

See if your family has a bible. My aunt has our family Bible and from what I saw, the first name written in the bible was from 1623. Granted the book's not that old but the list was detailed.

Thanks

what'd he say about him?

Oh nothing that can be repeated.Lets just say he and his ancestors had his fingers in all different kinds of pies. :funny: Now he could be just making it up to entertain us no one from my dad's side has looked into it.

I see 04/03/2014 Godzilla VS The Thing (1964) and the first thing that pops in my head is John Carpenters The Thing. That would be an insane movie. :p

Damn that's a lot I think it's time I watch the old Godzilla films that I have to get me ready for the new one.

I watched Godzilla 2000 recently and I have Vs Space Godzilla and Destroyah set for sometime in the next few days.

That would be interesting to see...

I have all but 4 of the Godzilla movies (off the top of my head I think there are 28 of them)...and will try and get them all watched this year. The problem is I have so many different movies and Tv shows I want to watch and other things in life that keep me preoccupied.

So I pass out last night and then randomly woke up this morning just in time as my ride pulls up so I can go to the doctors appointment I had completely forgot about. So funny how things happen like that. Had I woke up 5 mins earlier I would have went right back to sleep and missed the appointment
