Alcohol... the cause and solution to all our problems.

I've never been a fan of canned beers. The glass bottle just adds something ineffable to drinking.

I couldn't do that, mostly because I love eating too much.

Oh I love food as well, but when i'm drinking I just dont get hungry, until I actually STOP drinking.

I should mention that alcohol puts me to sleep before it makes me do anything stupid. I've never drank so much that I blacked out. I drink, I sleep, and I wake up knowing exactly what just happened.

I dont tend to do stupid things on alcohol, half the time people dont even know I'm drunk, I do stupid things but not stuff that would harm or offend others, just stuff that would make people laugh.

I have to admit that I am pretty much like this too. There has been plenty of times when I have drank every night in a week. Hell twice this week I have drank til 7 in the morning. A few years back a buddy and I drank for 60 something days straight. We filled every inch of our fridge up with beer and we built a tower with the boxes and empty bottles. College is fun. I love drinking.

 Sounds great, I miss university, as with a job you just cant do stuff like this as much, but make no mistake, every weekend gets abused when it comes to alcohol!

What's Ibiza like? I wanna go soooo bad.

Apologies for the thread derail :(

Its absolutely superb, and thats no understatement, this year was my fifth time going and it was possibly even better than the other 4 times, I have NEVER had a bad or even average time there, its been amazing everytime. People think you need drugs to enjoy it as well, I am living proof that you dont as I dont take any.

Go, you wont regret it. I am trying to get the money together to go for the closing parties in September.

I dislike canned beers to(the crappier beers tend to come in them, no coincidence) but a few do not disappoint

How much does a trip out there cost? Just talkin flight and hotel. I see you're already in England, so I'm sure it'll be cheaper than leaving from America :(

Well, talking from England it cost us £280 each for flights and hotel for 3 nights (we left early on the 4th day), I took £600 pound over there and spent it in 2 days, I was hoping to take more because I know how expensive it can be but I had only got back from Amsterdam 2 weeks earlier.

Ibiza is totally worth the money you spend, but it is expensive. Last time I went for a week I took £1200 but did come home with about £150.

Learned that mixing 99 bananas with some orange juice makes for a pretty tasty buzz.

Usually, I drink Coors Light. Tonight, I'm drinking Absinthe. Also, I love me some Jager.

If you ever see Sam Adams' Irish Red, Hefewizen, Octoberfest, or any of the Imperials(White and Stout) and get the urge to try a beer, snatch it up. I think those are the best SA has to offer

I will keep that in mind. But its my understanding that beers taste like piss...."its an acquired taste", etc etc. So, it makes me wonder, how do people even get started with drinking it?

Peer pressure.

Well, at least in my case.

I can't drink canned beers and avoid getting draft when I go out.
Dos Equis or Samuel Adams then finally Bud Light if I am living cheaply.

I would always prefer a glass of J&B or Stoli in some ice or a Jack & Coke.

Don't start by drinking Coors, Bud, Miller, Milwaukee's Best, Natural Ice, Michelob, or anything else you see served at sporting events. You'll pay a bit more for the good stuff, but it'll taste like something other than pisswater. I'm gonna link you to a thread over at bb.com. Check there.

Yeah, but not really though, right? I mean, I personally dont believe in peer pressure. And I certainly dont think that peer pressure could make me want to do something that sucks (bad taste in this case).

Just thinking out loud. Not trying to hijack the thread.

10-4.

:yay:

What are you kidding? Maybe you're not susceptible to it, but peer pressure is very real. When you're an insecure teenager and you're trying to fit in, you will drink beer, smoke cigarettes, do drugs, agree to parties at your parents' house, etc.

Drinking beer is a social occasion too. I don't enjoy it, but if I didn't drink it I'd have a lot less friends (and would have had a lot less drunken hook-ups too :awesome:).

I drink because I'm angry and I'm angry because I drink.

crawling my my skiinnnnnnn
These wounds, they will not heeeaaallll

closest I get to American beer is Miller Twist with lime. it kind of tastes like a flat sprite but it's still ok.

No. I actually thought you were kidding (seriously) when you said peer pressure. I've been a teenager and never felt the need to do any of that for friends or otherwise.

I dont get it, you say its social, but you dont enjoy it?? That doesnt make sense to me. Why would you have less friends? I'm not being critical, I just don't understand. Honestly. I have friends that drink and they aren't less friends of mine because I don't.

Hey, hey, watch it. LP isn't for angry people, it's for frustrated people. You want Hatebreed when you're pissed off.

You have to experiment and try different kinds until you find your niche. There are SO many different types! I started going to liquor stores that carried wide varieties of beer in single bottles as opposed to having to buy a whole 6 pack of them, and I would read the descriptions and purchase the ones that sounded appealing. I started out disliking beer and am now a complete beer snob :o

The last time I had anything that remotely resembled alcohol it was a red wine that was extremely bitter and not very enjoyable tasting. I just took the foam cup of it I was given (While the others were drinking it from wine glasses mind you. I felt so unwanted at that point.) and drank it down in one gulp, it was such a repulsive experience. If I want something in a bottle resembling an alcohol bottle I guess I'll stick with my fave, IBC Rootbeer.

Chianti Classico with a good steak is one of life's great experiences.

Well again, I dont have any plans of starting. Like I said, if I did decide to drink a beer, I think Sam Adams would be the brand.
It does seem like there are new beer brands/options/flavors everyday.

Oh, there are so many better root beers than IBC.
A few that comes to mind are Maine Root and Dad's.

I don't think our local stores sell those kinds of Root Beers though. At least IU haven't seen them in the stores, mostly just IBC.
