Alter Bridge is an American rock band based in Orlando, Florida. The band was formed in 2004 by then-former members of Creed, Mark Tremonti (lead guitar, backing vocals), Brian Marshall (bass guitar), and Scott Phillips (drums), with Myles Kennedy (lead vocals, rhythm and lead guitar), formerly of The Mayfield Four.

Most anticipated CD of the year for me! :awesome:

Alter Bridge is awesome. One of my favorite bands. I've always felt that Tremonti still holds back too much in AB though. I would really love for him to just let loose and start shredding, soloing, and throwing out nasty riffs.

But I have both of their albums and will definitely buy the next one.

Wasn't Alter Bridge done away with after Creed reformed?

No. It was stated by Stapp and Tremonti that both of their side projects will continue despite Creeds reunion.

So since Creed is on a break at the moment it will allow Tremonti to continue Alter Bridge and Stapp can finish his solo album/tour.

Creed is on a break? They were just in town a week ago. But either way, wasn't aware both bands were keeping on. Not a huge fan of either, though they're way better than most trash littering the airwaves nowaday.

Either they're on break or they're getting ready to start a break. Both Tremonti and Stapp have stated that both of their side projects will continue when Creed hits a break.

Seeing as Alter Bridge has a new album coming out it's apparent that Creed will start a break and Alter Bridge will tour.

The songs on AB III are good. The album doesn't quite beat Blackbird for me though.

Alter Bridge and Slash playing Rise Today.

Didn't know that Alter Bridge released a 3rd album, shows what a bad fan I am.:o:( I downloaded it on Itunes & it is pretty good so far.

Really enjoying the new album. I need to give it a couple of more listens, but my initial reaction is that I'm enjoying it more than Blackbird (which I really liked). Very solid album start to finish.

Bought the new Alter Bridge album yesterday along with Green Lantern: First Flight.

Haven't listened to the album yet and all I've heard/read is good reviews about it as well. I have this really, really bad habit of buying albums and not listening to them for days and sometimes months.

Part of it comes from having so many cds too. But I'll definitely listen to the new AB at some point hopefully.

the new AB alum is good but i thought it would be better. i still enjoyed dont get me wrong

I enjoyed it when I first picked it up, but it is growing on me even more, the more I listen to it. A lot of the songs get better with each listen, really enjoying it.

guess I should try to listen to it more.. I only heard the album a couple of times

I'd definitely give it a couple more listens. I think this is right up there with their other two albums.

Some songs that didn't really jump out at me at first have really become favorites.

Saw em last night in Tempe AZ. BEST SHOW EVER!!! My friends and I were front row, directly in front of Tremonti. It was epic. Just ****ing epic. Tremonti was the guy that inspired me to pick up a guitar for the first time so this being my first time seeing him live was huge!!!

Very cool - Did they play a lot from the new album? Any surprises in the setlist?

There was some from the new album. Isolation and Rise Today were the encore which was neat. Myles and Tremonti had a guitar duel which was fun. The only surprise (which wasn't much of a surprise, just something that was really cool) was they played White Knuckles. The whole set was just non-stop awesome. They had a band called Like A Storm open up for em and they were great too. Hell of a night!!

Sounds very cool. I saw them a few years ago and they definitely put on a great show.
