Alternate Endings: Discuss Here

Has it ever crossed your mind that some people, just as passionate about the x-verse as you, don't feel the need to settle for mediocrity and are upset with the film?

This is a forum, people exchange opinions. If only positive praise was allowed to be posted, this wouldn't be such a useful place.

That said, there is a difference between bashing out of love, and then you have mindless trolling. Pete McCabe was a mindless troll for the good side, but still an annoying little thorn.

Oh, I don't mind debates, and I've no problem with people who dislike the movies. I've also no problem with people who are passionate about the source expressing displeasure.

I just don't understand why people go out of their way to bash something they don't like on a forum dedicated to that thing.

Again, I -hate- the Hellboy movies, but I have never stepped foot in the Hellboy forums to discuss them, even when they were coming out, and they were the "thing" to talk about.

I'm talking more about people who go out of their way to do it, or register on a message board to do it. Not people who were already here, and didn't like what they got.

Also, while I will say that while much of the dislike of the movies is probably justified, I also feel it's grossly exaggerated. While people may not enjoy them, X-Men 3 and Wolverine are not nearly the horrible films that people make them out to be. I mean, there are people out there who actually think these are the worst films ever made - at least that's what they express. Just like people say, there are standards of what makes good movies, there are also standards of what make -bad- movies, and these do not meet those standards.

Though for the record, I don't find X-Men 3 or Wolverine to be mediocre at all, I don't feel that I am accepting of mediocrity because I like it. I think they were good adaptations and re-creations of the X-Men universe.

Oh well? I do. I'm going to come in here, and discuss this movie. Weather I liked it or not. Why? Because. So either you can ignore me, or partake in the discussion.

And yes, X-3 and Wolverine are bad movies in the sense they have poor characters, poor story, poor acting, and are just all around redonklous. Doesnt mean you cant like them....but they arent good.

I loved Friday the 13th (2009)....but I know it's not a GOOD movie.

Just because you say so doesn't mean it's true.

And that's really the exaggeration I'm talking about.

You obviously haven't seen many bad movies if you think THIS is "bad".

Some movies you know are good, but they aren't your type...
Other movies you know are bad, but you like them...

BY the way, I havent bashed ONE person for LIKING the movie.

I did make try to make a point to Pete, but the mod's didnt get it, and neither did he, so I got an infraction...but still. I dont attack people for enjoying something....unless that something is any of the ___ Movies. (Not the Scary Movies....cuz they make me lol sometimes)

:woot:

I also got an infraction...due to an argument with Pete...two actually...:csad:

I have. It's not the worst film ever made...but it's not very well made at all.

Like Ghost Rider. Which is worse then any Marvel movie...probably because I had to suffer through it 3 times in 2 days....ughh...

No it's not. Holy crap.....that movie IS painful. This was bad....but it didnt hurt my brain like that piece of **** did.

:hehe: Yea GR was actually painful, perfect way of putting it.

But it seems a lot of people here and elsewhere put this in the same bracket as the likes of GR and Elektra and co. When that is sooooooo far from the truth. This film ain't perfect, but it is not an abomination to cinema.

I've seen this movie unfinished...and that on it's own was about 20 times better then Elektra and Ghost Rider put together.

Exactly. And everyone knows that. But some will still slam this to the ground and completely ignore the positives.

It's because some people have such high expectations for comic book movies these days that if they are not met, that's it, game over, it is absolute garbage.

they made you watch Ghost Rider 3 times?

Basicly went like this.....I went to see Ghost Rider with my dad, then after that crap ended, I went out of the theater, and met up with my friends, they wanted to see a movie....at the last minute they decided to see Ghost Rider....so I saw it TWICE on the same day.

A few days later, The Number 23 came out, and me and a friend saw that....well we needed a ride home, so we had to wait for our ride to get out of HIS movie....and what movie was that.....****ing GHOST RIDER!! (it was at the beginning too!) :cmad::cmad::cmad:

There's postives...but to me, there isnt much. Wade is cool, and I dug the Gambit fight....and the credits. But thats pretty much it. It just didnt work for me at all.

You didn't like Liev? He was frickin immense. And the relationship between Logan and Creed was SPOT ON. Don't know how anyone can deny that.

Yeah...he was good. But he didnt do much in the movie..

I'd like to see him again though, he was a good Sabes.

I'd rather have the style they went with in Wolvorigins, then X-men. Cooler imo.

Yea man, at least he actually spoke a few words in this without having his mind controlled :D

I enjoyed GR, minus the ending. I liked it more than FF4. Hated Elektra.

Edit: Wow my response was late! lmao

GR is probably my least favorite modern Marvel movie. I was cringing in my seat when watching it.

I enjoyed certain scenes in GR, like when he rides down that building and smashes into the ground, that was bad ass.

But it just didn't suit the tone of what I think a Ghost Rider film should be.

Ghost Rider really suffered to me the same problems as Hellboy. A completely dark subject matter, made into a family friendly kid flick with nothing but jokes and one liners.

Although Ghost Rider was better to me, I thought the movie was at least halfway decent. And then that scene of Nick Cage and Sam Elliot blazing through the desert - I thought that scene was pretty full of bad ass.

In the end, it's also where my biggest disappointments with X-Men 3 and now Wolverine come into play. We get trailers and TV spots full of epic, and emotion, and character, but it's edited in a way that it moves way too fast for that epic, emotion, and character to sink in.

I mean, it's all there, but it's gone before it has a chance to sink in.

#1. Hellboy is awesome.
#2. If Ghost Rider had a better ending...then it would have been an average movie.

There were a couple really cool scenes in Ghost Rider, the story was the problem.
